The Hilton Checkers was a good choice for my business trip to LA. My meetings were at the LA Convention Center which was in walking distance. The staff were great. I was greeted each time at the door and by front desk staff. The checkin process was smooth and efficient.
My room was well laid out and clean. The street noise from the neighborhood was a bit obnoxious at times throughout the night. However otherwise I had a pleasant stay.

Claudia, Alex, and Jenny went above and beyond to assist with our work travel. They made being away from home as easy as possible, and we really appreciated it. I would certainly stay here again - awesome staff, good location, nice rooms, and good food.

Nous sommes restés une semaine dans cet hôtel et nous avons passé un bon séjour. La chambre était spacieuse et confortable, ce qui est appréciable sur plusieurs jours! Rooftop accessible au coeur de DTLA.
L’établissement est très bien dans l’ensemble, même si un petit rafraîchissement serait le bienvenu.
À savoir, le parking est facturé 60$ par jour, ce qui représente un budget supplémentaire non négligeable.

I want to start by saying how genuinely excited I was for this stay, which makes it even more of a bummer to write this review. I went into the weekend with high hopes and was really looking forward to the upper-end hotel experience. Especially at a Hilton!
I booked this reservation several weeks in advance for a three day birthday weekend for my partner and me. I intentionally chose this property because I wanted something more elevated than what I am used to, it was historically beautiful, and right where the magic happens! It felt like a splurge and something special.
When booking, I mentioned in the reservation notes that we were celebrating my birthday. I was not by any means expecting anything extravagant, no red carpet or champagne, but at the price point we paid I did hope for at least a warm acknowledgment at check in or perhaps a simple note in the room. There was nothing recognizing the occasion, which immediately felt deflating given how excited I had been and the fact I put effort to share in the comment box of my reservation. So that felt pointless..
The room itself was way smaller than anticipated and difficult to navigate with just two suitcases and a cooler. The layout felt cramped, and when I would lay down in bed, my feet would hit the bench chair at the foot of the bed. And I’m not tall! I’m 5’6”. It genuinely gave me a Buddy the Elf moment, like that scene where he is too big for the bed. For a stay that cost over $1,000, I expected a space that felt comfortable and thoughtfully laid out rather than tight and awkward.
The overall atmosphere was also a major letdown. The staff interactions were polite but noticeably flat and disengaged, like nobody wanted to be there, and I get it.. work is work.. but the energy felt low, and it honestly became a bit of a vibe killer. When you are spending that kind of money on a weekend that is meant to feel special, being surrounded by staff who seem to not like being there makes it hard to enjoy.. our stay felt transactional and indifferent.
We decided to try the lobby bar, thinking it might redeem the experience and be a highlight of the night. We were genuinely excited about it and thought this would be the moment that made everything feel worth it. Unfortunately, it was also a major bummer. Despite being the only two guests at the bar, there was a thirty minute delay between receiving our first drink and being able to order a second. Sitting there waiting, with no sense of urgency or engagement, completely deflated the mood. What should have been a fun, memorable part of the evening ended up feeling lack luster and disappointing.
For over $1,000, I expected more in terms of amenities, service, and overall ambiance. The jacuzzi had been converted into a rooftop terrace, which sounded so cool but ultimately felt quiet, isolated, and somewhat like an afterthought rather than a true feature of the property.
I really wanted to love this stay. I went in so excited and so hopeful, and that is why the overall experience feels especially disappointing. This is my second stay at a Hilton property as an Honors member, and unfortunately it has left me questioning the value relative to the cost. I hope future guests have a better experience, but this weekend did not live up to what I had anticipated.
This hotel provides subpar service. Despite maintaining our Hilton Diamond membership, we were unable to perform an early check-in. We were compelled to wait until the designated check-in time and were guided to our hotel room. Upon reaching the appropriate floor, we attempted to open the door using the digital card key, but it malfunctioned. Consequently, we wasted ten minutes descending to the lobby and requesting assistance from the front desk staff, who confirmed the card key’s failure. We subsequently returned to the relevant floor and attempted a second attempt, but the issue persisted. In the event of such failures, the staff instructed us to contact the phone located in front of the elevator. After making the call, we utilized the card key to reopen the door, but it remained locked. The machine responsible for card key recognition subsequently informed us that the battery may be depleted. We had already incurred a significant time loss in front of the room. Ultimately, the hotel service staff arrived and simply stated that the room number was incorrect. We were deeply embarrassed and verified the number provided by the front desk staff. To our astonishment, the front desk staff had mistakenly written the room number. This incident raises concerns about the basic service provided by the hotel. We intend to formally submit a complaint email to Hilton Hotel Headquarters and will refrain from utilizing this establishment in the future. Additionally, the showerhead exhibited a faulty lever that permitted water to flow out, resulting in excessive noise and an improper water flow. The room lacked essential service management features. If you are seeking accommodation in downtown, we strongly advise against considering this hotel.
