This review is 15 years late. I was a teenage girl when I stayed at this hotel with my mum and sister all Irish. This place was absolutely gorgeous, stunning, great pricing for your experience there and close by to the airport, walking distance to downtown LA and potentially Hollywood. I have never been to America since this trip as a teen or prior to this trip so it is my precious experience of the states. It was amazing. Apologies to the New otani as I am so late with my review! My memory of this place is so positive and I remember I ate pizza every night in that hotel that I think the chef was like "do you only eat pizza?" Haha but it was delicious! Thank you soooo much ❤️🙏🥰🇮🇪🇯🇵🇺🇸 With love Natalie

I used the restroom in my room ONCE and it literally clogged on me. The location is downtown and it’s not too bad. I will say arriving here I went through some emotional turbulence. I’m in town for Camp Flognaw and I came across the country just to be here for this event. When I was checking in the receptionist asked if I was here for the event and I said yes. She informed me that it was canceled an hour ago which was a bummer but I came all the way from Wisconsin so I said thank you for letting me know. I proceeded to try and check in and she told me the deposit was 75. Which was okay but she then told me the total was 1007 for the deposit which was what put me over the edge. I was extremely upset because we paid a little over 800 to stay through Friday-Monday and we had to call and switch the room over to my name because my brother couldn’t make it, nowhere on the website or during the call did they say there was a deposit which is misleading but on top of that 1007 for a deposit for three night seemed so crazy! Well I started crying and she gave me two cookies and two water bottles and apologized. I called my brother crying and told him it was 1007 for the deposit. Nowhere when talking to her did she say that it was the total for the room and the deposit and I didn’t think about until my brother mentioned that if it’s 75 for three nights I should only owe 225. So when I went back up there I ended up talking to a different receptionist and told her the situation. She was able to get it figured out quickly and only charged me the 225 for the deposit. My first hour here was a terrible experience due to a misunderstanding and the doubletree getting a new system that no one knew how to use apparently. The line wrapped around the lobby when I came down twenty minutes later. Honestly I’d hate to say it but I would recommend a different hotel. After their mistake they didn’t offer any apologies or anything. This is the longest review I’ve made so I hope it helps someone avoid making the mistakes I made. Also the breakfast here is not complimentary, it’s expensive, and you can’t even bring the food to your room if you wanted to. So do what you will with this information. I see a lot of people complaining about the helicopters and sirens when they’re here and I will say there is a lot of noise but I’m a heavy sleeper so I didn’t really care.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Fantastic Location & Great Service! We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Downtown Los Angeles, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location simply can’t be beat — it’s the perfect “command central” if you’re planning to explore the whole city. From here, you can easily reach all the top attractions, restaurants, and tours. The staff were outstanding. Andrea at check-in was amazing — friendly, professional, and made us feel right at home. The bellhops were also great, offering helpful tips on hop-on hop-off tours and other sightseeing options. The room was clean and comfortable. The only small issue was that the shower door wouldn’t stay closed, so we had to improvise a bit — otherwise, this would have been a solid five-star experience. Overall, we had an incredible stay and will definitely be back next time we’re in Los Angeles!

I went to Los angeles to enjoy time with my family because my son is a big dodgers fan. The moment we pulled over we received a very warm welcomed by a valet guy called Bryan. The guy was running up and down because the hotel was busy but yet he was able to manage to give us an excellent customer service. He mentioned pricing, where to park and benefits of paying for valet meaning that he gave a full information to us. We decided to valet because of his very good customer service and at the end he mentioned (We appreciate your business with us and welcome to the hotel) That is a very nice way to treat customers that are spending money. Very excellent customer service and we love Bryan ❤️

Honest Review — DoubleTree by Hilton The hotel staff are absolutely wonderful — truly the only good thing about this place! I honestly feel bad for them having to deal with what they do on a daily basis. Before you book, please be aware of the location. This area is unsafe, especially for women traveling alone. Skid Row is literally around the corner, and the hotel is surrounded by homeless individuals, drug users, and squatters who often harass guests and staff. I would not recommend walking outside by yourself. Our air conditioner broke and, although maintenance “fixed” it, it made loud knocking noises for two days. We couldn’t open the curtains because the room would instantly heat up again. The glass shower door wouldn’t stay closed, so water poured all over the floor. The wallpaper was peeling off, and there was a large crack in the ceiling caused by excess moisture and no ventilation. Housekeeping never came to clean our room, even though we were gone for over 6 hours. Parking is also a mess — if you arrive late, you may not find a spot at all. I reported all of these issues to the front desk, and they “comped” my parking as a gesture. Honestly, that was a bit insulting given how many issues we experienced. And to top it all off — no fresh cookies or water at check-in! Do better, DoubleTree.
