  Homewood Suites in La Quinta was recently renovated so the hotel and rooms look new and clean. I interacted with several front desk staff and all of them were pleasant and friendly. The free buffet breakfast had good selection of hot food and continental brrakfast each morning. The young lady who worked there was nice too. We got a one bedroom suite with two queen beds. We like that there's a small kitchen in the suite that includes a fridge, microwave, stove, dishes, cups and utensils. The hotel has an outdoor pool and hot tub, and barbeque. The pool is large. My family and I stayed at the hotel to go to Joshua Tree National Park. The hotel is in a good location to Joshua Tree as well as other local cities in the Palm Desert, such as the Desert Springs Outlet and Palm Springs. There are many eateries and shops nearby. The room that we first got had a toilet plumbing issue, where the toilet overflowed and water flooded out in the bathroom. We had to get moved to a room with a king bed with a sofa bed. My family consists of 2 adults and 4 kids, so 3 people had to sleep on the king bed and one of my kids slept on the floor. He made a bed out of the sofa cushions. It was the only room they had available since the hotel was fully booked. We got a different room, a bedroom suite with two queen beds the next day. So for our two night stay, we had 3 different rooms. We also noticed that the kitchen flooring was not even, where certain parts of the vinyl flooring were raised. I guess the job done during the renovation was a bit sloppy. Despite these things, I think the hotel is a good place to stay, especially for family with children. There are plenty of free parking at the hotel.

  This is my go to place to stay in the dessert. I have tried the higher end resorts, but they feel very sterile and too fancy for a family (and expensive). Homewood feels very homey and comfortable. Free breakfast is great as well as the evening reception. Free parking. Super clean and spacious rooms with full size refrigerators and a kitchen with toaster, microwave and stovetop. Fast Internet was a bonus.

  My husband and I stayed here for Thanksgiving. This hotel is actually pretty nice. It’s very clean and the beds and comfortable. I have a few minor complaints. First, the lights in the hotel room are incredibly bright and irritating. Softer lighting would work much better. Second, the breakfast buffet is terrible. If you are just wanting cereal, toast, oatmeal, it’s fine. As for the scrambled eggs, potatoes, and meats, that was the awful part. They put carnitas meat on the buffet at 6am which had such a horrible smell that it made the whole hotel stink. The eggs were disgusting. There was no amount of salt and pepper that made it taste any better. Luckily, there are other breakfast options outside the hotel. Third, it would be nice if this hotel had EV charging since a lot of people drive electric vehicles now. With that being said, I would still return to this hotel in the future.
