Dating from 1913, The Grande Colonial is an upscale hotel, it is a 6-minute walk from the ocean at La Jolla Cove and 3 miles from the Birch Aquarium.
Elegant rooms with goose-down bedding and bathrobes feature flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi, and some have period features and/or water views. Suites offer extra living space; some have fireplaces and/or full kitchens. In-room massages are available for a fee.

The rooms are always very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It has a great location just a couple of blocks from the ocean and many good restaurants. The staff are all customer focused. I always feel relaxed and well cared for there.

- AGAlexander GuyFeb 6, 20262.0If you’re looking for a mediocre hotel in a great location, this is the one. The front desk staff was unfriendly and not accommodating. The general manager, Kim Avant, will take care of you luckily, but I would still suggest having low expectations when booking an ocean view “Grande Ocean View” room. Don’t expect a spectacular view as the hotel is a bit set back, and while photos may show multiple windows with an ocean view, the reality is far from that. I picked the most expensive room available at the time and was disappointed.

Very disappointing! The things they advertise in the in room book are not available and no one seems to know the correct information. As in… no turn down service as advertised and no access to the Loft, as advertised. I never post negative reviews but hopefully this will help someone else not make the same mistake we did.

Excellent food options available at the restaurant. Wonderful pool area inside the hotel area so it feels very cozy and removed from the activity of the town. Small issue with some bedding in the room when we arrived, but staff was very helpful in resolving that quickly!

When will the incidental deposit be returned to my debit or credit card?
The amount difference between the original authorization and the final balance of your stay, is returned to the card at the time of departure. However, depending on your specific bank, it may take between 3-7 days for the funds to reflect in your account.
