  Great staff, but the lobby atmosphere is unprofessional and divisive I had a mixed experience at this Holiday Inn Express. On the positive side, the hotel is clean and the rooms are perfectly fine for a stay in Hermosa Beach. Most notably, the staff here is exceptional! Professional, helpful, and welcoming. However, the environment in the lobby is a significant deterrent. They have Newsmax playing on the common area television, which is a sharp departure from a standard professional "news" environment. Walking into a hotel only to be greeted by extreme, divisive, and often xenophobic rhetoric is a massive turn-off. It creates a hostile and uncomfortable atmosphere that doesn't align with the "express" or "welcoming" brand. It’s a shame that such a hard-working and talented staff has to work in an environment that broadcasts propaganda that insults a large portion of the population. I likely won't return until the management decides to keep the lobby neutral and professional.

  Terrible experience. Rude/unhelpful staff, slow service and location is next to a ton of noise, as other reviewers have pointed out.

  Over a decade long Platinum member here. Couldn't make my reservation so I tried to cancel. I was told canceling was too late, which is fair, but they also said I would only lose my anniversary free night certificate. However, this turned out to be false and they charged me an entire night's no-show fee of almost $250 and I have been trying to ask them to reverse the charge but they won't. If I had known I would've been charged a no-show fee, I would have made every attempt possible to at least go and check in. Super scammy policy.

  What a lovely stay. Staff were very accommodating, especially Carlos. The room was spotlessly clean, smelling fresh. The overall property was well kept, neat, tidy and clean. Location is also great if you are driving. Car parking space is limited at night during peak periods. Staff will always assist and accommodate where possible. We especially appreciate the Dove body wash, hair conditioner, hair shampoo and handwash provided. After a long flight, a very long wait in line at customs, then an even longer wait at Hertz car rental LAX, we were very grateful to find such a lovely room and place awaiting us. Thank you Holiday Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach.

  This is by far the NOISIEST hotel I’ve stay at. Extremely noisy along the street side, you’ll hear multiple sirens at night, and cars constantly passing by. Neighbors stumping/walking in their rooms. People walking/talking in the hallway, all very loud. Bed is is a good firmness, pillow is perfect. It is walkable to the beach tho. Service is great, breakfast is whatever but better than nothing.
