The hotel and it's rooms are nice. It's a modern place that's on the fancier side and has a decent amount of space with a specifically accessible room which is great for me. The breakfast is also fine. There are a decent amount of options that taste good. But there are a lot of problems with the accessible shower. Too many to cover but for anyone that needs it it does work, it's just badly designed in many ways so it barely works. There's also problems getting into the room because you enter a number into a touch pad to unlock the door instead of using a card and there's a lot of problems with that. Like it messes up all the time and you enter the code in many times, or it has to be reset cause it's not working properly, or it doesn't work at all.
The staff are nice and helpful but they're never available. Most of the time when I go to the front desk no one is there and I can't get any help. They even have a self serve machine for check in/out cause I guess this is pretty common that no one is there, but the machine usually has an error and says talk to reception because it's not working, so it's kind of useless.
The location could be good depending on what you're looking for. There isn't a lot in the area and it's a little remote, but it's great if you like outdoorsy things and is right beside the beach. However if you want a lot of establishments to go to and be in a town near the city it's not good for that. So it just depends on what you want, it could be really good or not as good.

We’ve been staying at this hotel for the last few years and while the location is great the rooms are fairly typical. The included light continental breakfast is nice as well.
In the last year or so they added a virtual host that is the worse hotel experience I’ve ever encountered. Imagine a kiosk with a person you’re speaking with on a video call with speaker. Meanwhile there is a front desk person standing there doing busy work. So awkward. Also, in my experience most of the time the person “in” the kiosk can’t actually doing anything timely and the front desk person has to step in and do it….why not just do it and get rid of the kiosk. It’s a horrible customer experience. This trip I had a leak in my room and had to tell the virtual host and waited around while she tried to location an actual human…which she never did. I walked around and found someone. It’s enough to not want to stay here any more. I know it’s sounds minor, but wait until you try it.
They’ve also recent added punch keypads to the rooms that require a new little device in the room for what I assume is network connectivity. The light on the device blinks erratically all night. Also, I think our new door pad was running low on batteries or something as it beeped all night.
It’s cool the property is thinking about ways to modernize but stick to the playbook with NFC/digital or cards and allow for digital check in though an app or something. It’s too bad they are making it less enjoyable to stay here. Next time we are in the area I think we will consider other places despite the amazing location of this property.

It is an average hotel. The rooms are nice and somewhat comfortable. Room service want every day, looks like our room was missed a few times. The breakfast kinda sucked... The toasters don't work, the eggs are like powdered eggs, and the coffee is really burnt. If you need to stay in the area it would suffice, however might look at something closer to the beach next time

I had a wonderful experience. Check in was smooth and quick. Rooms are exactly as pictured, and clean. Very thoughtful, they included shower cap and make up room wipes, and shower mat. My first time staying at a luxurious hotel, I'm very impressed. I will certainly stay here if I come to Half Moon Bay again.

Stayed here as part of our west coast road trip, lovely rooms and very friendly accommodating staff.
We planned to find a launderette locally as we are on a 3 week trip, and were delighted to find a guest laundry room onsite which was an incredible suprise and very very convenient.
Great equipped gym too.
