My husband and I stayed one night at the Best Western Aristocrat Hotel on a recent trip down the California coast. The hotel was really beautiful and clean, with a British theme throughout and beautiful design details in the rooms, including a fireplace and shutters on the windows. The room also had a separate sitting area, so it felt very spacious. The bathroom was also roomy and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. They did offer a complimentary hot breakfast as well, which was very good.
Though I had been looking forward to having dinner at Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, I didn't realize how popular it would be, and we were unable to get a reservation. So, we ended up having dinner at Cameron's Pub, located adjacent to the hotel, and it was excellent!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

I have been a Best Western member for decades, and I am at the point of deleting my account. I have liked Best Western since they are dog friendly, and I usually travel with dogs. That said, Hampton Inn, which is part of the Hilton chain, is often also dog friendly, and when I have stayed with them, it has been effortless.
Every time I stay at Best Western, there are issues, and I spend my vacation time dealing with them, and this Best Western is no different.
When I arrived on Tuesday night after driving all day, there was no parking available in the hotel parking lot since it was St. Patrick's day and the customers at the pub next door had taken over all the parking spaces. That was finally remedied, while I waited.
When I checked in, I stated that my room did not need to be made up each day, but I wanted fresh towels and the garbage taken out. Into the second day day, that still has not happened.
Then there is the issue of being overcharged for my stay upon arrival, which still shows as a pending debit on my ATM card, even though it supposedly has been corrected twice.
Note to self and all Best Western travelers: Never use an ATM card at a Best Western Hotel.
To the manager: I saw your response. However, if your desk clerk had verified the charges with me when I checked in or by comparing what was on the printed receipt I showed her, some of these issues may have been avoided. When I questioned her about the discrepancy, her response was "Well, that was what the computer said."
I checked out a day early due to a family emergency, and you could not even get that correct, and over billed me again. I have filed a dispute with Wells Fargo so you can work it out with them moving forward.
I also filed a complaint with BW Customer Relations on the other issues.

First time we have ever had a hotel room where we could not get live network TV. We bought wine and cheese to watch the Academy Awards in our room. Nope. Even the desk clerk could not figure it out. Ridiculous. She was nice enough though to get us glasses for our wine. Also, breakfast was subpar. Little tiny plates and dried out eggs. And it's on the main highway next to a noisy pub.

This hotel is very clean and updated. But there were also a few pain in the butt things about it. For starters, no pool or hot tub. The television is 100% Internet reliant. That kept going out randomly. Lids didn't fit the coffee cups. Just random little annoying things. But I will say, they had the best Continental fake scrambled eggs I've ever had. The sausage was good too. All in all, this place was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. I would stay here again. I'm just being nit picky, I think.
Rooms were great, stocked with Starbucks and Peet's coffee! However the shower handle was a bit wonky had to almost turn water off to get hot water (maybe our room was a one off). Service was good, friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was underwhelming for a place named "Aristocrat" however it was free to be fair and rooms were priced reasonably. Location was okay, RV travel campground out the window however windows close easily for privacy. Downtown was dead, I'd recommend going to Princeton fishing boat area for dining instead of downtown. Downtown being dead is of course not the hotels fault but more just half moon bay as a town.
