I booked an interior room specifically to avoid traffic noise, because this property has very poor soundproofing. My reservation explicitly stated that the reason for booking the interior room was to avoid noise.
Unfortunately, the hotel did not honor that reservation and instead placed us in an exterior room again. This completely defeats the purpose of the booking.
Because of the lack of soundproofing, you can clearly hear rolling suitcases, whispering in the hallway, and room doors opening and closing early in the morning when the soccer teams begin their day. We are here for the nearby soccer fields, but the constant hallway noise has resulted in very poor quality sleep.
Adding to the problem, the room door allows daylight to come through the edges (see attached photo), which further demonstrates how poorly insulated the room is from hallway noise.
We stayed at this hotel last year and had multiple issues with the room as well:
The shower squealed so loudly it was unusable due to the high-pitched noise.
It took two days and multiple maintenance visits to correct it.
The bathtub had hair in it.
The coffee maker did not work properly.
The noise level made it difficult to sleep.
Despite these problems during a three-night stay, we were offered very minimal points as compensation.
The staff have been polite, but they do not appear to have the authority to resolve the situation, and it seems to require management involvement.
The location itself is convenient — we enjoy the bakery and grocery stores across the street, Dutch Bros nearby, and Castleman’s Restaurant at the next exit, and the soccer fields are about 20–30 minutes away. However, after two stays with unresolved room issues and the hotel not honoring the room type we reserved, I would not choose to stay here again. Frustrated guest!
