Decently located. Staff at the front is chill, somewhat accommodating. The managerial department could use some work. The cleaning crew needs better training, not in the cleaning department, but in the hospitality industry . My girlfriend and I were staying here because she was having surgery out in San Diego. The entire time we were staying there, whether it was cleaning crew during the day, or guests at night, we were hearing doors slams every couple minutes. We had the “privacy/do not disturb” sign on the door. Because she was having surgery, she needed a calm, quiet environment before and after the procedure. That being said, why is it so difficult to communicate to your staff that the guests aren’t leaving the room, their stay has been extended, do not ignore the “privacy” door hanger? The lady knocked, while she was opening the door, and as we are light sleepers, we both wake up to her barging in to our room. Understandably frustrated with being woken up and privacy ignored, we shouted “no” and other objections (no profanities, nothing vulgar) her entrance. We report this to management. Management comes to our door, and says, not verbatim (and summarized) “our number one priority is the comfortability, and the safety of our staff, we do not appreciate insulting or berating of our staff, however because of ‘the incident earlier’ we will allow you to stay in this room, instead of changing rooms, for your extended stay”. We were never supposed to change rooms, the manager just wanted, in my opinion, to act powerful, and make us feel like he was making an exception and doing a favor for us, when in actuality we already took care of the extended stay and not changing rooms. So he was essentially, in my opinion, just talking down to us, and trying to belittle us. Did not catch his name, unfortunately. Don’t want to ramble too much. Consider this when planning your stay though.
