At no point during the check-in process were we informed of any issues with hotel facilities. However, around 12:30 AM, when we attempted to shower, we discovered that there was no hot water in the room. I immediately contacted the front desk and was informed that the hotel’s hot water system was not functioning and that repairs were underway, with no estimated time for resolution. The staff member who answered the call offered no apology, no assistance, and no alternative solution. Instead, she stated there was nothing she could do. Given the circumstances, it was unacceptable to remain in the room without access to hot water, particularly while traveling with my seven-year-old daughter. We were forced to leave the hotel in the middle of the night to find alternative accommodations. Despite the fact that the room was prepaid and rendered unusable due to the hotel’s failure, Pacific Palms Hotel refused to issue a full refund and insisted on charging us for the first night. Charging guests for a stay they could not reasonably use due to the hotel’s own operational failure is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of accountability and professionalism.

I really appreciated the complimentary parking—most hotels in the area charge for it, so this was a welcome surprise. Michael at the front desk was outstanding and kindly accommodated a slightly later checkout. There were a few areas in the room that could benefit from minor touch-ups or updates, but overall it was still an excellent and comfortable stay. I will definitely be returning in the near future.
