This is a "home away from home!" If you need a great place to stay when visiting family, friends, work related business, or even home renovations this is the place to be! You will fall in love with the ambiance and grounds of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and come with kitchen style amenities so you can enjoy your stay and cook in your suites. There is a pool that is roughly 70 degrees that you can enjoy along with a hot tub. Next to that is a patio with grills so you can enjoy the outdoors and dine with your family and friends. The parking on site is free so you don't have to worry unlike some hotels that charge for that. You can enjoy a 24 hr. indoor gym or walk the perimeter of the hotel with the peace of mind of safety and watch the sunset. There is a lundryroom offering enough washers and dryers on your desired laundry room which is open 24 hours. There are pet stations so you can enjoy an area specific for them to use the restroom. The hotel is friendly to pets and service animals just let the staff know upon checking in so they can appropriately designate you. You will be surrounded by great eateries within a block and even religious establishments you can check out if you are staying for long periods of time. On Wednesdays the hotel offers a social gather to meet and greet. The hotel also decorates for the holidays so it is a kid friendly place. The major freeways are close enough that you can get to downtown San Diego or Balboa Park. Don't hesitate and book your room(s). Come visit and enjoy the wonders that are offered!!!

Good clean room. Always important. Water pressure can almost knock you down, in a good way. Great people working here too.

My husband and I recently drove from Florida to California, and while searching for accommodations, we saw that Homewood Suites was one of the few places with availability during our stay. We preferred to speak with someone in person to book, as it’s usually easier to apply the military discount that way. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff told us there were no rooms available, but they could offer us a king suite, which was unfortunately well beyond our budget. I asked if there was a standard king room available, as I had seen one online, but he said there was nothing else he could offer. We left and continued searching nearby. Later, I checked online again and saw that Homewood Suites still showed availability, so I went ahead and booked the room online. We returned to the hotel, and the same front desk staff member appeared hesitant to assist us. I let him know I had just booked the room online. He asked us to wait while he verified that a room was indeed available. After a short wait, he proceeded with check-in. He asked for both my husband's ID and mine, which was unusual, as we've never been asked for both before — especially just to receive a second key. Normally, two keys are provided without needing to collect all my personal information. Once we got to our room, we were disappointed to find that it had a strong odor — it smelled like dog, and there was visible pet hair on the floor and couch. I have allergies, so this was particularly uncomfortable. That said, we were exhausted from the long drive, and since it seemed like the only available room, we decided not to go back and complain — especially given how unhelpful the front desk experience had already been.
