My partner and I stayed here while in town for a friends wedding. We enjoyed the hotel, which we were surprised is connected to another hotel that they share facilities with. The staff are friendly, parking was easy, location is convenient but still a little off the beaten path. I enjoyed how spacious the rooms were though I was disappointed in the pillows and linens. I also requested a foam pillow and they brought me a shredded foam pillow which feels completely opposite of what someone would want when seeking the structure of a foam pillow. I don’t know if we’d go out of our way to stay here again but if we had to stay here again for some reason that would be alright.

This is a nice hotel. We stayed in 2 restaurants ins because the first one has a drip from a ceiling panel. They moved us instantly to the room across the hall which wasn’t an inconvenience, in fact, this room had an amazing ocean view. So I’ll give you a recommendation and a little tip for your stay. I highly recommend getting a room on the ocean view side - absolutely worth it and it will make your stay memorable. My tip is how to find the ice. There is no ice machine on the first level. However at the end of the hallway of rooms there is a door to a nice stairwell and right up those stairs in the second level is the ice machine. It took me a lot of walking to figure this out. And, ya I know, I shoulda just asked, but where’s the fun in that?! Overall a nice stay with everything you need down to bikes to ride and beach chairs, umbrellas and towels to take over your the beach.

It was a wonderful stay for our trip to LEGOLAND. We came early to get a parking pass and parked in the underground garage. We then walked across street about five minutes to a small black metal gate/door that leads to LEGOLAND parking lot; from there about 7-10mins to the front entrance. There is sign posted that small gate closes daily at 10pm so be mindful about that. We were lucky to get upgraded and the kids loved the family suite with their own tv in their own room. The kids also loved the separate kids pool. I believe the pool depths were only about 3 to 4 ft. which is perfect for my kids whom are early swimmers. There is also a nice laps pool which we didn’t have time for. There is a nice little restaurant on the first floor lobby. We only tried the breakfast buffet and overall was good but selections were kind of limited. I think mainly because they don’t have enough space to display a larger selection. The main reason for not a 5 star stay was because the smoke alarm in the guest room ceiling was constantly blinking green. It was pretty annoying in the dark and had to put on our eye mask to sleep. That being said the hotel room was very clean quiet and the staff are wonderful. We will definitely come again next time.

The room is spacious with nice amenities. However, there was some device on the ceiling with a BRIGHT green LED light that would flash every 10 seconds. That's fine during the day, but makes it really difficult to sleep and managed to make for a very long night. Why is it so bright, flashing so frequently, and positioned to bother folks while trying to sleep?

Our experience at The Cassara Carlsbad has been disappointing so far. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready until after 4 PM, and when we were finally given keys, they led us to a room that was already occupied by ANOTHER family who told us they had been settled there for over an hour. The front desk staff didn’t take accountability and brushed it off with, “Our operations director was probably just really happy and excited and pushing buttons,” which they even repeated to the other family involved. The property itself looks nothing like the website. The “flower bed view” is actually a patch of dirt overlooking a Crumbl Cookie with a barely partial view of the coastline. The so-called adult pool isn’t enforced, there were little kids running around and swimming freely in what’s labeled a lap-only pool. Parts of the property appear to be under active construction with no signs or safety indicators, which feels like a liability waiting to happen. Additionally, the shuttle service advertised online is no longer available. When I asked about it, the front desk told me to pull up GPS and drive myself to the other side of the property near Legoland. Basically, nothing matches what’s advertised on the website. The one bright spot? The salad from the downstairs bar was phenomenal: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, that’s been the highlight so far.
