Clean hotel with decent restaurant attached. There are bus stops nearby which is convenient. The lakes to the north are within walking distance and offer a great 10km loop for running our walking. The gym had a strong chemical/plastic odour which was unpleasant. The bunnies in the shrubs outside were nice to see!

We had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn. This was a last-minute booking, and we were extremely impressed with the overall experience. As someone who is exceptionally particular about cleanliness, I was genuinely impressed by how immaculate the room was. The bathroom, bathtub, and shower were spotless and clearly very well maintained. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, which made a significant difference for me, as someone who experiences chronic neck and upper back pain and often struggles with sleep. The blackout blinds were excellent and kept the room dark, even in the morning. The sleep kits available through Guest Services are a thoughtful touch. The front desk manager on duty was professional, courteous, and welcoming. We only stayed one night, and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We will definitely be returning!

The A/C did not work, the toilet was running, the carpet needed a good vacuum and there were no towels!! We complained and asked for a new room but were told there were no more rooms. To accommodate us they handed out 2 threadbare towels and were told to talk to the manager in the morning. Unbelievable conditions and customer service. We travel and stay in hotels on average about 7 days a month year round. Holiday Inn will not get our business again.

My sister got married this weekend and we had a booking block at the Holiday Inn, Elk Lake. When my boyfriend and I checked in, we were already told that our black out blinds don’t roll up right now because someone broke them. Okay? Not the biggest problem but then the problems started. We went to have a shower on the Friday evening. We only had 2 towels. I’m a woman, I need 2 myself, hair and body. And I’m aware they usually only supply 2 right off the bat which is fine. We called the front desk for one, still didn’t have it like 30 minutes later so we just said whatever and showered and had to share towels but it was annoying and not what you want to deal with in a hotel you paid your hard earned money for. Then the next day when we told them we still didn’t have extra towels, they had a maid come while we were at the wedding but all they did was replace the towels, no extra still so like okay that’s not a fix. And the maid didn’t even tidy or make the bed at all during the entire weekend so another service fail. Then our AC fan didn’t blow at all so we notified them of that. The last thing you wanna do after a night of drinking at a wedding is wake up in a room full of stagnant air. Again, no fix the entire weekend. Now, this wedding has obviously been planned and booked for months and my sister made a booking block for people attending the wedding. When my boyfriend and I were checking in on Friday, we watched people (not from the wedding) walk in and book a room for a night or 2, no issues. Then when people from the wedding booking block came in to get their rooms, they were told there was “plumbing issues” in some of the rooms and therefore they didn’t have a room for them for the night and would have to relocate them for the night. But they wanted to substitute the motel 6 that was like 10 minutes down the road. But why would you let people do walk ins to rooms you had available and then screw over the people with actual reservations???! For a room at the motel 6 to boot. Mind you, these people took ferries and had long drives to get here and you guys screwed up by overbooking and then wanted to place them at a scummy motel down the road like what?!?! Give your heads a shake. Last night (August 15th), after the wedding, the wedding coordinator/auntie of the bride was coming into the hotel with a bunch of bags of stuff from the wedding. It was late so the door was locked. They also don’t have automatic doors so you have to open it yourself. Instead of going to help her with her bags, the staff member just pointed at the scanner to scan your room card to get in. Super rude, and I guess chivalry is dead. That’s the type of service we got for about 400$ a night. I don’t care if it’s a Holiday Inn. When I’m paying those types of prices, I expect better service than this. I’m very disappointed in this hotel and will be letting people know to avoid this place like the plague.

After being quoted $400 for a two-night midweek stay in a king bedroom for two guests, we were shocked to be presented a bill at checkout for $1000! Staff claimed they quoted $400/night (much higher than their normal advertised rates), but admitted only to a discount for the unexpected and unusual second night surcharge on the bill. Staff had not provided a copy of the billing upon check-in, which I would highly advise future guests to request in order to avoid the unpleasant surprise we received upon check-out. $200/night would have been an acceptable price for this hotel experience, but definitely not $400/night. We will not use them again.
