I stayed at this hotel last year and had an incredible experience — great location, excellent food, and the rooms were fantastic.
Unfortunately, this year’s stay was the complete opposite.
The hotel is currently under renovations, and in my opinion, it should not be accepting guests during this time. The number of issues we encountered made the stay extremely disappointing.
Key issues included:
WiFi never worked
Hot tub not functioning
Buckets placed in hallways catching leaking water
Restaurant closed
“Free” to-go breakfasts never delivered, with no follow-up calls
Parkade under cleaning, making parking difficult or unavailable at times to use
Deck areas extremely dirty with noticeable buildup
We did raise concerns during our stay. We were offered a 20% discount and had to push to receive points as compensation. While we appreciated the partial refund, the issues continued throughout our stay rather than improving.
What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability from management. Instead of acknowledging the number of ongoing issues, we were told we should have been aware of the renovations in advance. While renovations are understandable, the scale of what was not functioning or properly maintained made the experience unacceptable.
Based on this stay and other recent reviews, it seems many guests are experiencing similar issues, and concerns are often redirected back to the reviewer rather than being addressed and improved.
Overall, very disappointing given how great my previous stay was.

One of the worst experiences ever at a hotel. Poor service, poor amenities ( no restaurant, no bbq's, out of commission hot tub, dirty dishes upon arrival, painting mess everywhere). All of which has been available in year previous and none of this information was shared prior to our arrival. This place deserves no stars and a big avoid for anyone planning on staying there.

We have have 24 guys and been coming to this hotel for 30 years. Every Friday & Saturday night we use the BBQs to cook our dinners. This year we are being forced to buy our own BBQ because this pathetic hotel has not supplied us with one. No notice of this and the staff does not seem to care. Absolute joke of an establishment and knowing the area there are so many better options. Be ashamed to call your hotel a Holiday Inn. That name should carry class and quality for their customers and this place does not!

If I were Holiday Inn, I would disown the facility. They are currently renovating the building and supposed to be complete before the summer, but it's months from that. The hallways have buckets in the middle of the hall to collect the water from the ceiling. The location is amazing though. Right on the beach of the lake which is just awesome. Just sad that this building is so gross.

We recently stayed there at the beginning of Feb and had the worst experience we ever had at a hotel. At 6pm we were advised our room was not cleaned yet and would be ready shortly, at 9pm we were given the key card to a room that had not been serviced. At this time we could not go anywhere else, so reception staff came up to change the bedding and clean the bathroom themselves. We spoke to the manager who advised us in the morning to contact our booking agent for a full refund. It has now been 2 months of our booking agent reaching out to them providing us with regular updates that they have not heard anything back from the property. We are extremely disappointed from the whole experience especially multiple false attempts to make things right where nothing has been followed through.
