  Hotel is nice enough. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast is good and the pool is great. However, for a hotel in the “Tournament Capital of Canada” this hotel is absolutely not set up for teams and I would never stay here again if traveling for a tournament. They are not set up at all to deal with large groups - there is only one common area (which is also the breakfast area and lobby), which can be booked by one team, but when there’s three teams in the hotel it means there is absolutely no shared space for kids and parents to socialize. Hotel policy is also that the common area must be cleared by 9pm which IMO is unreasonable. Hotel staff were also quite rude and unreasonable in terms of working with us to find a solution for our team. For a hotel that advertises themselves through different sporting organizations as a tournament hotel, this was a very disappointing experience for our team.

  Avoid at all costs! Terrible! The staff running this facility did not allow us to spend time as a team. We tried to hang out in the rain in the empty parking lot when the common space was rented to another team, and they told us we couldn’t because the facility was full, even though the parking lot was empty and there was no other space to gather as a team. The next night they called the cops to remove us from quietly hanging out in the common area lobby. They kicked us out as well as another team that was in the same area.. Kamloops is the tournament capital of Canada apparently, hotels should cater to the families and not punish them when they use the only common spaces available. Worst service I’ve ever had at a hotel. Avoid this place if you are looking for a hotel for a tournament in the future. Terrible!

  Our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express Kamloops was disappointing, particularly considering the room rates and the level of cleanliness and service we experienced. Several areas of the property fell short of basic cleanliness standards. The stairwells were filthy, the carpet in our room was in serious need of a deep clean, and the bathroom corners appeared to have been overlooked. Customer service was equally disappointing. With several youth sports teams staying at the hotel, staff appeared overwhelmed, and there was a noticeable lack of control over the common areas. The property simply did not seem adequately prepared to manage the volume of guests. Considering Kamloops is known as the Tournament Capital of Canada, busy sports weekends should be anticipated rather than treated as unexpected challenges. Hotels that accommodate large groups should have the staffing, organization, and operational planning in place to maintain a consistent standard of service for all guests. Having an understanding of the hospitality industry, I recognize the challenges that come with high occupancy and large group bookings. However, a busy hotel should not come at the expense of cleanliness, organization, or the overall guest experience. At the rates being charged, guests should reasonably expect a clean, comfortable room and a property that is well managed, regardless of how busy it may be. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of those expectations.

  I want to take the take and write this review. On Sunday Oct 4th there were many people in the lobby waiting to check in and she was the only staff member. She was calm and helped everyone in a timely manner, not an easy thing to do! Thank you Sana!

  Although nothing seriously wrong with this hotel, I will say it is the worst IHG I've experienced. Just little things like the heater not working (but was fixed by front desk clerk). The room was smaller than many other hotels but plenty large. My main annoyance (and it's really minor) is that the large screen television's picture only filled the screen about 2/3's. I'm sure there is a way to adjust that but no one has bothered to. Breakfast was standard Holiday Inn but they also had beans. The breakfast area was very cramped. The bed was comfortable and hotel clean but I don't feel it was a good value.
