  First time in Courtenay. Enjoyed our visit to the area. We had some trouble at check in we arrived after 5pm and the room they thought was ready for us still hadn’t been cleaned. Not a big deal; we went to dinner and the room was ready upon our return. Nice size rooms. Fairly standard breakfast. Saskia is the friendliest, and most helpful, receptionist we’ve met.

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Courtney-Comox. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and the fitness facilities were also clean and and had plenty of equipment. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and it’s centrally located to all the things we wanted to do in the Comox Valley. Thanks for being a part of our island getaway!

  Very nice hotel and professionally managed. I stay here whenever I’m in Courtenay for business, and the experience is consistently great. The team is always welcoming and remembers me and my preferences from previous visits, which is a really nice personal touch. The GM is friendly and professional and always takes the time to say hello whenever he sees me in the lobby. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and always clean. Service is excellent, complimentary breakfast is included, and EV chargers are available on-site. Definitely my go-to hotel whenever I’m in Courtenay and one I’m happy to recommend.

  We were very fortunate to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Courtenay - Comox. Our family was evacuated from our property due to the Wildfire which evacuated our entire Community in Summerland BC. We needed 2 rooms and 1 needed to be an accessible room for my daughter and partner. We have special equipment to help transfer her and the room needs to meet some criterias for it to work. I was absolutely amazed and relieved to see the accessible room at the hotel! It was amazing and made our stressful situation less stressful for us. Also, the staff were amazing and very accommodating. Thank you! The beds were so comfortable and the amenities were super! The breakfast buffet was very fresh and tasty. The location is central and close to restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. Very inviting during at very stressful time 👍👍👍👍👍

  FLORESCENT YELLOW EAR PLUG FOUND BY CHILD ON FLOOR OF HOTEL🤮 I don’t usually write negative reviews. However, in this case, people need to be made aware. We booked one night for two adults and two children with two queen-size beds. We checked in at 2:30pm. The hotel room was dirty. There was actually a ring around the tub, and I wanted to bathe my children, so that wouldn’t do. The front desk told us to come back in an hour, and they would have another room ready for us. They said the housekeeping supervisor would clean it herself to make sure it was perfect. Once the room received the supervisor’s approval as being in mint condition, the front desk clerk went to the room and checked it with me. The bathtub in the new room was also dirty. It had some blue cleaner or something on the inside of it, as well as hair and dirt. The front desk clerk agreed that it needed to be cleaned, so she asked a housekeeper to come in and clean it. It didn’t stop there. After returning to the room and bathing the kids, went out for dinner, then came back and tried to relax until my five year old daughter found something she thought was a toy and brought it to us. (Thank God it wasn’t my two year old son, because he probably would’ve put it in his mouth! 😡) It was a fluorescent green earplug left behind by a previous guest. We looked further because we were so disgusted. We found sunflower seeds on the floor, greasy hand marks on both headboards, as well as something stuck between the beds above the phone. There were marks all over the walls and streaky, greasy mirrors. I complained again, but they did not have any other rooms, so they asked us to leave the room so they could clean it again. We would’ve left the hotel entirely because this was completely unsanitary; however, we came from out of town, had two young children who needed sleep, and there was no availability anywhere in Courtenay. If that’s not bad enough, they were completely unprepared for breakfast. They were out of everything every time we went up. This stay was definitely not worth $400 a night. The front desk lady tried to help but needed approval from the manager who disregarded us and offered no compensation for the uncleanliness conditions. If you have any issues at this hotel expect to be ghosted by management. Cleanliness should be mandatory. I 100% do not recommend this place.
