We chose this motel, a little far from downtown Vancouver, because it is reasonably priced. We were very pleased with the motel. There is a bus terminal directly across the street so public transportation is readily available. The room was clean and attractive and the beds are comfortable. Parking is free and breakfast was a good start to the day.

Stayed here twice during our holiday, first for 3 nights and then came back for another 6 nights. Had a great stay both times.
The rooms are really clean, spacious and comfortable, and every staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is also really good and definitely adds value to the stay. Special mention to the staff running the breakfast every morning — absolute legends! Always friendly, welcoming and keeping everything stocked even when it gets busy.
Location is awesome if you're staying around Metrotown, and having the SkyTrain nearby makes getting around Vancouver incredibly easy.
We were really happy we chose to stay here and even happier that we came back for the second part of our trip. Would hugely recommend it to anyone staying in the area and we'd definitely stay again next time we're in Vancouver.
Beware ! Billing Scam by HOLIDAY INN Express at Metrotown Burnaby
Stayed 1 night on June 7, 2026 for a family trip, with a fully paid booking for 2 rooms thru Capital One travel portal Hopper. On checking out, the front desk said they could not confirm the rooms were paid by Hopper and just charged my CapOne credit card at the same rate shown on my original booking with Hopper.
On return, I checked my credit card account which showed the original transaction charged by Hopper for the 2 rooms, and two new charges by Holiday Inn Exp, one for each room at CAN336.43. The total adds up to CAD672.86, the same as the original transaction.
Thought it was a case of duplicate charge, so raised a dispute request with CapOne credit card in mid June providing copies of my payment email receipt for the original booking as well as receipts on the duplicate charges by Holiday Inn Exp Burnaby. The hotel maintained the charges were valid. But somehow CapOne credit card reverted in July indicating that my dispute request was settled for 1 of the 2 transactions charged by the hotel, with a credit back to my card account for 1 room at CAD336.43, which was only half of the duplicate charge!
Totally confused, I called the CapOne travel agency Hopper on 7/23 and again on 8/12. On both occasions, their agent confirmed my original booking was fully paid for. They called Holiday Inn Exp Burnaby right away on both occasions and confirmed with their billing dept about this second duplicate transaction, which the hotel admitted and confirmed a credit for the remaining amount CAD336.43 would be issued back to my card account directly.
As of 8/27, no return call from the hotel manager nor credit received on my card. Holiday Inn Express Metrotown deserves a better rating on its friendly staff and services, get your billing and management team to do their part !!

Holiday Inn Express Inn and Suites Metrotown, do better!
Was quoted over the phone $555 for two nights, breakfast and fees included. Aug 25-27th. Was mid-call to book (directly with the Hotel) and provided our Holiday in rewards account info and our CC with expiry. Then they hung up (yes maybe our cell call dropped but was at full bars). When we called back, they quoted $900. Then a supervisor, couldn’t do anything and said he’d talk to another department. But he ‘cold transferred’ me so that next department knew nothing about the call. They were researching options and again, call disconnected. Both agents had our call back # but no effort to reach out. Holiday Inn Express Inn and Suites Metrotown, do better!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Metrotown Burnaby for three nights during our family trip across Canada, and we could not be more grateful for choosing this property!
Outstanding Service & Welcome
Right from the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Front desk staff Ashley was exceptionally kind, ensuring our check-in was smooth and quick. As an IHG rewards member, I was pleasantly surprised with a welcome fruit basket and snacks, and they even thoughtfully offered a small toy for my younger son.
Rooms & Location
Accommodations: The rooms are decently appointed, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable family stay.
Location: The hotel's location is truly excellent. With the SkyTrain station right across the street and Metropolis at Metrotown (one of the largest malls in BC) directly connected to the hotel, everything you need is at your doorstep.
Transit & Dining: There is no shortage of dining options, and getting around is an absolute breeze with a direct 20-minute train ride into downtown. Plus, there are lovely green spaces nearby, and staying here avoids the chaos of downtown while still offering supreme accessibility.
Amenities & Breakfast
True to the Holiday Inn Express brand, breakfast is included and offers a decent variety, featuring hot options like eggs and veggies, bakery items, yogurt, and pancakes.
The Only Drawback: The pool area is quite tiny and lacked proper temperature control during our visit.
Final Verdict
Aside from the small pool, everything about this hotel was excellent. It is a much easier and more convenient place to stay than downtown, all thanks to the SkyTrain access right outside.
Overall Rating: 8/10 – Highly recommended for families and travelers looking for convenience, great service, and connectivity!
