Exceptional staff attitude was the highlight of my stay. While the hotel offers fair value relative to the tariff paid, there is a noticeable disparity between the photos provided and the physical reality. For international guests, the surrounding neighborhood presents a security or comfort issue, but that is probably my personal prejudice. I think if the hotel can do something with access that would help improve guests’ confidence in safety tremendously (being Asians, I felt uncomfortable when I unloaded my luggage with 2-3 people walking by and staring).

I stayed here because when I phoned from the road to ask about a room the clerk was so friendly and professional it was an easy choice. The other hotels I called to compare prices either didn't answer or weren't pleasant on the phone. Tasty breakfast too!

We have been Best Western members for years now and almost always stay in BW hotels when we're traveling with our dog. Our stays have always been excellent. This one was not just an exception – it was absolutely awful We checked in Saturday, Nov 29 at around 4:30 p.m. We left around 6:00 p.m. sacrificing our $92 payment to get out of there. Here's a brief description of what happened. As we headed to our room after checking in, we passed the woman who had checked in before us. She was headed back to the lobby and looked totally freaked out. She told us the clerk had given them a room that was already occupied and she and her husband had walked in on the occupants. When we entered our room we were surprised by the very strong pet odor inside. We have stayed in dozens of hotel pet rooms over the years and never experienced this. On just this trip, we stayed in two other BW hotels with our dog. They were clean and odor-free. Not to overstate it, but this room stank. My wife went to the office to see if there was another room available. She was told all the pet rooms were now occupied and they all smelled like that because, well, they were pet rooms. We figured we'd eventually get used to the odor and brought our suitcases in. We noticed the floor seemed quite dirty. We dampened a washcloth and swiped it on the floor and it came up black with dirt. This was not a little dust. This floor was filthy. We dampened a hand towel and cleaned it as best we could, but then we needed a fresh hand towel. We called the office and were told they couldn't deliver one, but we could bring it up and they would exchange it. When my wife took the dirty towel up, the clerk told her we likely would have to pay for it. The towel was not damaged – but it was dirty. With the dirt that was in the room when we arrived. The clerk also informed us that they did not refund payments. A few minutes later we got a notification from our bank that it had declined a $50 charge from Best Western. Shortly thereafter there were two attempts at $25 charges. This was apparently for a dirty, undamaged hand towel. To us, this felt like an attempted theft. At this point we didn't feel safe in our room. After a brief discussion, we decided to forfeit our payment and go to another hotel. There was a hotel a few blocks away (we'll call it the Q Inn) that had pet rooms available and we went there. This was about the same price as the Desert Villa Inn. The room was clean and the only odor was the pleasing, light scent of fresh linens. We were curious – do all hotel rooms have dirty floors? We dampened a washcloth and swiped it on the floor. It came up clean. We'll never stay at the Desert Villa Inn again. Traveler beware.

Checked into this hotel only to immediately realize it was a huge mistake…the lights barely turned on and flickered when they were on, everything was covered in stains excluding the sheets, there were scuffs on every door, wall and all the furniture, there was debris on the floor, nothing was clean, there was NO HOT WATER, there was a drawer that wouldn’t stay closed, all the appliances were outdated, the shower was dirt and had unfinished areas, there was no conditioner, the pool was ungodly to look at, lamp shades were stained, the bed felt cheap and was very uncomfortable, the sofa was dirty and there were also shady guys walking around the premises which felt very unsafe. After bringing up these concerns to the front desk staff, we were told since the booking already started we wouldn’t get a refund. We also got in contact with Travelocity, who we booked through who told us the hotel staff had “checked” the room and found nothing wrong with it so they couldn’t grant us a refund. So we had to stay the night. Needless to say we were pretty mad. We were given a new room but everything was basically the same except the drawer was working. The door to the new room also wouldn’t open even after the card reader turning green. It always got jammed and was very hard to open. The Inn is also right next to the highway and VERY noisy. I cannot believe they call themselves a Best Western, they should be ashamed. Anyway PLEASE bewarned before staying here, just get an Airbnb or something…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars – Exceptional Value and Comfort I had an excellent stay at the Best Western Desert Villa Hotel. The location alone is a huge plus—right near pizza delivery, Starbucks, McDonald’s, and other convenient food options. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, which made resting after a long drive really easy. A quick heads-up: the TV volume seems capped at about 1/4, so you won’t get a cinematic surround-sound experience—but on the bright side, you also can’t hear anyone else’s TV, so it keeps the whole place peaceful. The morning breakfast room is outstanding. The service is nonstop, and the food is genuinely impressive. The taste and temperature of everything were spot-on—fresh, hot, and clearly prepared with care. That makes a huge difference in how healthy and enjoyable the breakfast feels. Add in clean bathrooms and a helpful, friendly staff, and you’ve got a hotel that really understands its guests. The whole experience feels thought-out and well-executed, giving travelers the biggest bang for their buck. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely stay here again.
