  It’s about 5 feet off the freeway (all the hotels around here seem to be) so it was not quiet from street noise. I played my own white noise & used ear plugs. When neighbors were slamming doors repeatedly someone from the front desk came up right away to ask them to quiet down, I appreciated that. The only other thing is that they need to ditch the fancy coffee machines in the breakfast room (that grind & brew each cup to order) cuz there was a massive line for coffee and no one wants to wait. (Although you also have coffee in your room, but still) you’re not fancy holiday inn, just brew the big urns so we can start our days without a line & a confusing touch screen coffee machine.

  For a recent family trip, we stayed at the Banning Holiday Inn, for almost a week. I’m happy to say it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. No issues or complaints. All staff members were friendly and polite. Our room was clean, nice and inviting. Very comfortable beds and plushy bedding. There was enough space to set and store all our belongings and more. There were extras, such as iron, hair dryer, dove hygiene items and their gym. Everyday our towels were replaced and trash bins emptied. I was delighted in how quiet it was. The complimentary breakfast, a fantastic plus! We really enjoyed their variety every morning. We will definitely stay again in future travels.

  I was disappointed with my recent stay. Cleanliness was clearly an issue—floors throughout the property looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in some time and could really use a thorough steam mop. The overall impression was that basic upkeep is being neglected. Breakfast was another letdown. Several items ran out and were never replenished, which made it feel like the hotel was cutting corners rather than providing the service guests expect. Service and presentation also fell short. Staff were not dressed professionally, which added to the sense that standards aren’t being maintained. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well—my room was not refreshed as expected, and I had to ask twice before anything was addressed. In the meantime, I ended up emptying the bins myself and placing them outside the room along with the used towels. Another noticeable change is that the beds are no longer remade during housekeeping service, which used to be standard in the past. That’s something most guests reasonably expect at a hotel—especially when they’re on vacation and paying for a comfortable, fully serviced stay. Overall, the stay felt disorganized and below the level of cleanliness and service I would expect. With better attention to housekeeping, breakfast management, and staff presentation, the guest experience could improve significantly. In my opinion, it doesn’t deserve a star at all.
