Calling to say my reservation would be cancelled (when I’m already 20 minutes out) due to a card issue when I had booked the room a month and a half in advance. 🚩2.) The first woman at the desk failing to mention that my friend (who had booked the trip as a gift) could have just paid over the phone. Instead, because my friend was not present to swipe her card, she easily brushed me off. 🚩3.) My friend was able to connect with a different gentleman over the phone (who offered the pay by phone solution). However, instead of preserving my original Hilton discounted 2 night stay, he ended up charging my friend for a full priced 1 night stay. (Which made quite a stressful surprise around noon the next day). 🚩4.) Then, when I think I’ve escaped checkout, my friend calls me a few days later to find an additional $190 charge for a same day cancelled reservation. Thankfully, a refund there was resolved. And thankfully I made her check her account. Overall it was a shame because it was supposed to be a fun, nostalgic kind of occasion but I will consider my lesson learned. Rooms are beautiful though!
