  Personnel très désagréable. Impossible de les joindre par téléphone, et quand ils décrochent, ils sont malpolis Ils ne veulent rien savoir, impossible de décaler ou de modifier une réservation. Personnel, vraiment, méprisant.

  WS Fern prevented my travel. I changed my reservation, but was restricted again by bad weather. I spoke with a hotel employee who said they would cancel the reservation but I may end up being charged and to just call. I ended up getting double charged for both reservations. When I called, this hotel refuses to refund either charge stating they have the right to charge for room reservations regardless whether you show or not.

  Desk clerk untrained. Made unauthorized charge to my credit card. No help whatsoever in solving the problem. I have never encountered such rude hotel employees in my life.

  Arrival and Amenities I chose the Hampton Inn in Bakersfield because it is a new building, and I wanted modern facilities. The check-in process went smoothly, and the parking situation is excellent—there are plenty of spots within a fenced area, which felt secure. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the fitness center was very well-equipped. Room Quality We had a room with two Queen beds. While the mattresses were good, the pillow selection was disappointing; they were all very voluminous, with no flat options available. On the positive side, the TV was new and allowed for easy use of streaming services. However, maintenance was an issue: our toilet was not functioning correctly and the flush ran every five minutes. Noise and Insulation The biggest issue with this hotel is the construction quality. The walls are thin, but the lack of impact sound insulation between floors is the real problem. You can hear every single footstep from above. We had a family staying above us who were noisy until 2:00 AM. It was so loud I actually thought the ceiling might collapse. Breakfast The breakfast was meager. Key items were missing, specifically fresh fruit like oranges and bananas. There was also no orange juice available. Conclusion While the hotel is new and visually modern, the structural noise issues make it impossible to rest. My tip: unless you can guarantee a room on the 4th (top) floor, avoid this hotel if you actually want to sleep.
