  Arrival and Amenities I chose the Hampton Inn in Bakersfield because it is a new building, and I wanted modern facilities. The check-in process went smoothly, and the parking situation is excellent—there are plenty of spots within a fenced area, which felt secure. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the fitness center was very well-equipped. Room Quality We had a room with two Queen beds. While the mattresses were good, the pillow selection was disappointing; they were all very voluminous, with no flat options available. On the positive side, the TV was new and allowed for easy use of streaming services. However, maintenance was an issue: our toilet was not functioning correctly and the flush ran every five minutes. Noise and Insulation The biggest issue with this hotel is the construction quality. The walls are thin, but the lack of impact sound insulation between floors is the real problem. You can hear every single footstep from above. We had a family staying above us who were noisy until 2:00 AM. It was so loud I actually thought the ceiling might collapse. Breakfast The breakfast was meager. Key items were missing, specifically fresh fruit like oranges and bananas. There was also no orange juice available. Conclusion While the hotel is new and visually modern, the structural noise issues make it impossible to rest. My tip: unless you can guarantee a room on the 4th (top) floor, avoid this hotel if you actually want to sleep.

  We thought we had a decent stay here until we received an outrageous undisclosed charge. Hotel is nothing to write home about but it was an ok stop on a long road trip. The front desk did not do their due diligence to update contact information to communicate this charge and did not discuss anything with us at check in or out. There were also dogs barking all day long and a dog wandering the hall for 30 minutes without an owner so the charges were out of left field. If you are a service dog/ pet owner beware.

  4th floor room was quiet and everything looked new and clean. I liked the modern feel and excellent layout, and free breakfast lasted all the way through 10am. If I am in the unfortunate situation of staying in Bakersfield again, I'm going straight to this inn for comfort, quiet, and the relief of fresh, clean scents.

  This is a fairly new property so the rooms are amazingly clean and fresh. They are well stocked and you cant go wrong. I highly recommend this hotel. On a personal note to Executive mgmt...my wife works for Hilton and yes we did use the Team member rate. What you dont know is I am a diamond and travel quite a bit for business. My wife is also a diamond and I asked her to book hotel of course to get Team rate. It was a little disappointing to find out we couldn't be upgraded to the bigger room and I know the answer is due to using Team rate but the benefit for working for Hilton is to enjoy all the extras especially if you have achieved diamond status. I dont want to put a negative review because frankly you have a great hotel that you and your staff have done a great job keeping it new and fresh. Just hoping in the future you may consider extending all the privileges a diamond would get even if they are a team member. Thanks for the consideration. Just wanted to be genuine about my post but in no way should I take away the great property you have thus the 5 star.

  Hotel room was comfortable and quite large. Easy parking and new hotel. The breakfast provided was better than other places we have stayed at with a large sitting area. The reception staff are rude. If you are a sensitive sleeper we recommend you don't stay here as the air conditioner is a single unit and is very loud during the night. The thermostat makes a ticking noise each time the air con goes on and off which sounds like someone is trying to come into the room.
