This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It's a disgrace to the Hilton chain. They will charge you for everything – parking, a bottle of water in the room, breakfast, which was initially listed as included in the booking. And even worse – they don't return your security deposit. A complete disappointment, not a hotel.
Mattress / bed was old and had really poor support. Hurt my back, as a front sleeper. The vibe of the lobby is off putting. The fitness room has a nice Peloton bike, but overall not great. We left our room early to stay at a nearby marriot for the rest of our stay in town.
Round two at the DoubleTree and it’s still a total win! 🌟 We are right in the heart of the action—Disneyland, Downtown Disney, and the Garden Walk are all just a hop, skip, and a jump away. If you get hungry, you’re spoiled for choice with all the restaurants nearby. The rooms are super chic, sparkling clean, and the amenities are top-notch. Can we just stay forever? 🏰✨

I am writing this as a warning to families planning a stay here. We spent three nights at this property dealing with an overwhelming, persistent sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom. This isn't just a bad odor; it is a sanitary and health concern for any family, especially those traveling with children.
When I finally reported this to the front desk manager, the response was completely unacceptable. Instead of an apology or an immediate solution, the manager was dismissive and questioned why I didn't report it sooner. As a family returning from Disneyland after midnight every night, packing up and moving rooms at 1:00 AM was not an option.
The Failures:
Maintenance: Assigning a room with a clear plumbing/sewer bypass issue.
Service: The "Make It Right" promise was nowhere to be found.
Management: Rather than taking accountability for a defective room, management attempted to shift the blame onto the guest.
I have filed a formal case with Hilton Guest Assistance and a report with the Orange County Health Care Agency.
If you are looking for a clean, safe, and professional environment for your Disney trip, look elsewhere. A hotel that dismisses health concerns and blames its guests does not deserve your business.

No family should ever have to experience what ours did. If you are traveling with children or coming from out of state. Please be very cautious when choosing to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
My family and I had one of the most heartbreaking and distressing hotel experiences we have ever gone through, especially at a Hilton-branded property we trusted for years.
We booked our stay months in advance and even called the hotel the before our arrival to make sure everything was in order. No one mentioned that they refuse certain bank-issued debit cards. So when we arrived, from traveling out of state with our child, we never imagined what would happen next.
The front desk supervisor, Maria Webb, refused our card solely because of the bank name, the exact same card we used to book the reservation and the same card DoubleTree charged nearly $200 just an hour before we walked through the door, When I wasn't supposed to be charged until I arrived. The DoubleTree took our money, then claimed the card was unacceptable because they weren't able to take the card for payment per their policy.
What made everything so much worse was how we were treated when we asked for help. Instead of compassion or even an attempt to find a solution, the supervisor simply said,
“This is the solution.”
Meaning: there was no option for us to stay. There was no support and no alternatives. She didn’t call a manager, didn’t try to assist, didn’t seem concerned about the fact that we were now stranded in another state at night with a child, just days before Christmas.
We were devastated. My family had been looking forward to this Christmas trip for months. We had planned a special evening that night at Downtown Disney, dinner, bowling, and fireworks, to celebrate, prior to going to Disneyland Park the fallowing day. Instead of getting to check in to our hotel and enjoy our evening plans at downtown Disney, our son stood beside us crying in the hotel lobby while we tried to figure out how to keep our family safe for the night. That moment is something I will never forget.
Because The DoubleTree by Hilton turned us away, we were forced to scramble for emergency lodging last min at a much higher rate, something we never should have had to do. The emotional and financial impact was significant.
After this ordeal, we reached out immediately to the General Manager and Hilton Customer Support, hoping that at least someone would acknowledge the seriousness of what happened. No one responded. Not a single email back. For a brand that prides itself on hospitality, the silence was disheartening and it was extremely disrespectful to be ignored especially given the circumstances. This made us even more uneasy about the overall management of this location.
This entire situation was completely avoidable. If a hotel refuses certain bank cards, that information must be disclosed clearly, before a family travels across state lines, before their card is accepted online, and certainly before the hotel charges the card they later refuse at the counter.
I am sharing this experience so other families do not go through what we did. We have stayed at Hilton properties for over a decade, and this was by far the most unprofessional, uncaring, and emotionally damaging hotel experience we have ever had.
