Staying at the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and spa was a real treat. Beautiful hotel with a roaring fire down in the main area that where people could sit and enjoy. Decor and the hotel itself was beautiful. Good restaurants within the facility itself. And I loved the fact that we could literally walk out of our hotel and either right into California Adventure or in the other direction come out on Downtown Disney.

My second favorite hotel, but my favorite by design are style. The most beautiful hotel. The host and extremely polite and professional. I booked a 3 bedroom villa and took my entire family and their kids. They said it was their most favorite trip ever.

Couldn’t enjoy the hotel since all the non paying guests from Disneyland come to this hotel and make it so crowded… what’s the point of paying premium for a hotel when everyone can have access to it? The gate to enter is always open ANYONE can go in! Seriously what’s the point of using your hotel key when the outside gates are open to public? Cast members don’t even check if you have a reservation!! Do better and stop letting in everyone!

Stately hotel, impeccable service, and my kids love the little rocking chairs in front of the tv showing Mickey cartoons.
We were upgraded to a pool view upon checking in and adored the cast member who helped us. She bejeweled a birthday pin for my oldest and shared stories since she’s been with the hotel for many years. Really wish I could remember her name!
Loved the restaurant options from hearthstone lounge to storytellers cafe and Napa rose, all on site. The gift shop has GCH specific pins with chip and dale, which my oldest pin collecting child loved.
All in a great stay and can’t get more convenient than this. Only bummer is the discontinuation of early entry - hopefully they bring that back!

PROS:
- LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Within California Adventure Park. You get tired or need to change, you just walk on over to your hotel room! The absolute best!!
- Cleanliness. Turndown service is free.
- Room service and restaurant food did not disappoint. Fresh food. Try the room service spaghetti!! The best I've ever had. Room service was faster than other places I've stayed at.
- park views from the hidden terraces
- if you book through Disney directly you get a travel extras package with discounts to some shops and restaurants. You also get a premium lanyard and pin (while supplies last)
- knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful staff
- free tours of the hotel for guests
- stunning architecture and lobby design
- live music in the lobby
- gift shop with everything from Disney items down to Ben Gay for the aches and pains.
- Beautiful pools. Slide pool for the kiddos.
CONS
- no parking structure right next to hotel. If you don't do valet, you will have a walk.
- no water bottles in your room. Take your own larger water bottle to fill up for your morning coffee.
- non guests are allowed in the main lobby area as well. When you want to go down and enjoy the rocking chairs by the fireplace or leather couches, it is pretty packed. Some days we couldn't find a seat to sit and listen to the piano playing.
- It is pricey, but you get what you pay for.
- restaurant we wanted to eat at was under construction..call before you go.
