"Wine Country" tourists expect the best, and the Holiday Inn Express in American Canyon delivers Wine Country level service at affordable prices. My wife and I work in the entertainment business, so we spend a lot of time on the road. Our clients pay for our accommodations, so we choose IGH (Holiday Inn hospitality group) properties whenever we can. IHG consistently provides us with nice, clean, comfortable places to stay that don't break the bank for our clients, and as a 20+ year member, I can say from experience, the IHG rewards program is absolutely excellent. We highly recommended Holiday Inn Express American Canyon for all of these reasons.

The holiday inn express in McKinleyville/Arcata has the same issue. The IHG in American Canyon/Napa is cheap. They use the cheapest most flimsy plastic tableware. Spoons and forks were useless in eating breakfast. I got my own out of my vehicle. They only had sweetened flavored packaged oatmeals, no plain or freshly cooked. The bread was also the lowest quality one can purchase. At IHG in McKinleyville/Arcata they had almond milk, fresh hot plain cooked oatmeal, and quality strong plastic utensils. Seems this should be uniform across the hotels. The man in charge of the cleaning crew was rude to and demanding of the maids in American Canyon/Napa. He had a mean cutting edge to his voice bossing them around. So sad to see the women taking that abuse because they need to work to earn a living. He hovered over them and criticized them , nitpicking as they worked. We were there two nights. Front office people were efficient and kind.
