We had a wonderful stay at Best Western Plus Chateau Inn in Sylvan Lake. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend getaway. Our room overlooked the lake, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The staff at the front desk welcomed us with warm smiles and made check-in quick and easy. Their friendly service set a great first impression.
We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. There was a good variety of hot and cold options, everything was well stocked, and it was a great way to start the day before exploring Sylvan Lake.
The hotel's amenities, including the pool and hot tub, were clean and well maintained. The location is another big plus. It's within walking distance of the waterfront, restaurants, cafés, and local shops, so we hardly needed to drive once we arrived.
Overall, we had a relaxing and comfortable stay. If you're looking for a clean, well-located hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast, I would definitely recommend Best Western Plus Chateau Inn. We'd be happy to stay here again on our next visit to Sylvan Lake.
Our stay at the Best Western PLUS in Sylvan Lake was… educational. We couldn't book anywhere else by the time it was....well....too late. Everything was full. The staff were genuinely wonderful, and the exterior of the hotel presents itself beautifully. Unfortunately, once you step inside, the experience shifts noticeably.Despite requesting a higher lake‑facing room two months in advance, we were placed on the second floor facing the parking lot. The hotel was full, so no changes could be made. Not ideal, but we tried to remain optimistic. The air conditioning struggled the entire stay, becoming evident it was throttled (hotel controls it, not you). Our room never dropped below 22°C, and with sealed windows, the air became warm and stale quickly. The fridge was only marginally cooler than the room. The TV remote was found under the bed, the channel selection was extremely limited, and there were no movie options. In-room coffee pot's water reservoir had a stale funk to it with an after-smell of windex....didnt even attempt to use the nasty thing. The jetted tub’s jets didn’t function, and the bathroom hot water hovered just above lukewarm. Exhaust fan in the bathroom worked just as well as the jetted tub. The pool water was cloudy enough that I couldn’t see my feet in four feet of depth, and the hot tub produced a thick layer of foam when activated highly suggesting it has been not but a toilet for some time. Breakfast consisted of container scrambled eggs, small sausages, cereal, and yogurt — simple, but not memorable. There was fresher protein in the fluffy carpet of bugs on every window sill in the breakfast area....nasty....seriously. Inside, the hotel feels significantly outdated and in need of substantial maintenance. At the current price point, the value simply isn’t reflected in the condition of the rooms or amenities. And, as is tradition, I expect the hotel will soon reply to this review with a familiar message: that they appreciate the feedback, will inform staff, and will look into the concerns. They’ve been posting nearly identical responses for years. A polite gesture, certainly — but one that hasn’t resulted in meaningful improvements. Reading past reviews makes that quite clear.I truly wish I had read those reviews before booking.
Burn your money and get a cardboard sign to sleep outside after booking here. Not just being much more comfortable and better fed, you'll be getting better value for your dollar.
You're welcome
It's a good hotel. I gave it a 3star as it is overpriced.

Pool closed unexpectedly for two days. Very strict check in and check out times. Extra charges everywhere you look. Wonderful location. Friendly staff when there wasn't an issue. I will be thinking twice before I choose this hotel again.
We are doing a road trip and wanted somewhere close to Edmonton that looked nice, it was just meant as a place to sleep but the hotel is a pleasure surprise.
It’s easy to park, great location, nice view, close to a few bars. The main thing is it’s quiet and the beds are really comfortable.
