  The hotel's location is really good, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are very spacious. You can easily reach both River Valley Park and the downtown area. Whyte Avenue isn't too far away, either. The breakfast, however, was pretty awful—even by American standards. But at least there’s a Subway and a Tim Hortons nearby. On top of that, the ice machine wasn't working.

  As a loyal Diamond member for several years, I was highly disappointed with my recent stay at this property and cannot recommend it.The room prep was completely unacceptable; the housekeeping staff used the wrong size bed sheets and simply stretched them over the mattress, causing them to slip off. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location. I suggest staying elsewhere.

  Nằm ở trung tâm, 15 phút đi bộ tới Edmonton Convention center. Khách sạn có 9 tầng, có phòng bơi, nhưng lúc tôi ở thì họ đang cải tạo. Có 1 convenient store ở tầng 1. Phòng ở rông rãi, sạch sẽ, có máy pha cafe. Có bàn là ủi quần áo. Khách sạn cung cấp dịch vụ dọn phòng hàng ngày. Nhân viên vô cùng nhiệt tình. Đồ ăn sáng với tôi thì không thích lắm, nhưng so với nhiều khách sạn khác thì khá đa dạng. Nói chung đây là 1 lựa chọn tốt.

  1-Star Review - Absolute Rip-Off on Pricing I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Edmonton and was completely shocked by their dishonest billing practices. When I checked in, I signed the paperwork clearly showing a rate of $108 for the night. Everything seemed straightforward, and I trusted the hotel to honor what was on the document. Fast forward to the final bill — they charged me $259! That's more than double what I agreed to. When I questioned it at checkout, their explanation was vague and unhelpful. No clear breakdown, no apology, just a shrug and "that's what it came to." This is straight-up deceptive. I chose this hotel because of the decent location downtown and expected a standard, reliable IHG property. Instead, I feel scammed. The room itself was average at best — nothing special for the price they decided to charge. Do NOT stay here if you value transparency and fair pricing. They’ll lure you in with a low rate and then hit you with surprise charges at the end. I’ll be disputing this with my credit card and definitely won’t be back. Terrible experience. Avoid this place.

  This hotel was awful. We were booked at the Matrix for a wedding and realized it didn’t have a pool for the kids. Closest pool was at this hotel. Arrived to Edmonton from Calgary to find out the place was under construction and pool was not accessible. Front desk workers were completely dismissive. I’m an essential service worker and did not get the discount when I showed my ID. The air was thick with a putrid smell due to whatever was being done with all the construction. Both kids started having allergy symptoms when we got there and stopped when we left. Our key cards deactivate several times which was annoying. The breakfast was okay for options but cold when you sit down to eat it. Not worth almost $300.00 per night!! Front door had smashed glass and the back door was being held closed with a broom handle. Did not feel safe or secure. Will never come back to this hotel.
