  This is the best hotel experience I have ever had firstly GM Loraine was in the lobby greeting guests and asking about the experience and staff especially JOJO provided high quality service with a smile. On top of the staff being amazing this hotel is new extremely clean….everything works, showers in the room are amazing, hot tub is hot, gym has working high quality equipment and has amazing views all around !. Also having a restaurant here that has quality food at all times is amazing. Everything was absolutely amazing! We will be staying here when we are in Calgary going forward. Truly a premium experience!

  ⭐☆☆☆☆ This hotel ‘ Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary NW’ does not deserve a single star. Our stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary NW was extremely disappointing and far below the standards we expect from an IHG property. Our room had several maintenance issues. The bathroom sink drained very slowly, and when we reported it, we were told that nothing could be done because there was no maintenance or housekeeping available at night. The bathtub was chipped, the bathroom floor had damaged tiles, and there was no exhaust fan, leaving the bathroom with an unpleasant odor. The overall condition of the hotel was also disappointing. The elevator floors had visible cracks, giving the impression of a poorly maintained property. Considering the price we paid, it felt more like a budget hotel than a Holiday Inn Express. We were also surprised to see towels and bottled water left openly displayed on a table behind the front desk, which looked unprofessional. The laundry room was extremely hot because of the dryers, yet there was no air conditioning or even a fan for ventilation. In addition, the drinking water station was located inside the locked gym, making it inconvenient for guests who simply wanted to refill a water bottle. IHG should inspect this property to ensure it meets the standards associated with its brand. Better maintenance and greater attention to guest comfort are clearly needed. For the price we paid, we expected much better. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

  We booked for two nights, when we arrive, the front desk says the pool is out of order and promised it will be reopen the next morning. Well, next morning, it is still closed. I said, we choose here because the pool. The front desk desk says: the pool is not included in your room price.. I mean, excuses me? Everything is included in the room price… that’s how you run this hotel…

  We flew into Calgary and spent a few days in the downtown area before going to Banff. When we returned, we spent two more nights in Calgary, and that's when we stayed at the Holiday Inn. I wish we had made this choice during the first part of our trip. During the first part we spent a fortune on a hotel room in a very quiet downtown area and in the end enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn much more. First of all the C train is directly across the street. You can't get any more convenient. That train will take you downtown in 10 minutes. The location is fantastic. The rooms were great, the bed was super comfy, there was a microwave and refrigerator, and the AC worked great. The hotel is big, clean, and quiet. Of course, you get free breakfast, which is the normal free breakfast you get it all these hotels. There are some smallish restaurants pretty close by, and a steakhouse and pizza place a short walk away, which was great. It seems like maybe there have been some safety issues, as the hotel left cards in the room explaining things we should and should not do for our personal safety. Throughout Calgary there are drug addicts and homeless people and I didn't notice more here than anywhere else. I suppose it's worth noting that when we stayed there, it was summer so the college students were not around. I can't imagine that they would make people feel unsafe though. It is also across the street from a large University stadium, so maybe during events things get a little crazy. All in all, next time I know that when I go to Calgary this Holiday Inn is the place to stay!
