  Extremely disappointed with the hotel’s decision not to make a reasonable exception for a youth sports team by providing a credit toward future use. A simple goodwill gesture could have preserved our business and demonstrated that the hotel values youth sports teams and the communities they serve. Instead, the decision came across as very short-sighted and disappointing—especially when hotels are more than willing to accept money raised by kids and families through fundraising efforts. There are better options elsewhere. Other hotel chains are willing to work with youth teams, understand their unique circumstances, and build long-term relationships rather than focusing only on the immediate transaction. Unfortunately, this experience has made our decision much easier: **we will take our business elsewhere.** On a side note: Bring your own breakfast to this venue

  I am extremely disappointed that this hotel charged me 26 CAD for a bedsheet due to period stains and 26 CAD for a towel because of black mascara stains. These were ordinary, accidental, washable stains—not damage or intentional misuse of hotel property. Charging a guest for linens simply because they require additional cleaning is unreasonable and, frankly, unacceptable. Hotels should have proper laundry and stain-removal procedures for exactly these situations. I have stayed in many hotels and have never experienced something this unreasonable. If a hotel considers normal, washable cosmetic or bodily stains to be “damage,” guests should be clearly warned with big highlights before booking. Our experience with this hotel was one problem after another. We had a shuttle booked in advance, and when the scheduled time came, we were casually told that the shuttle had been sent for an oil change. There was no prior notice, no apology, and no alternative arrangement ready for us. We were left stranded at the last minute. What made it even worse was that we had to push the staff to get them to book a cab for us. We should not have had to argue with hotel staff for a basic solution to a problem that was entirely the hotel’s responsibility. This experience completely changed my impression of this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

  We stayed 2 nites in this hotel… unfortunately it was not clean enough for us. A hotel is a place you l expect to be pristine clean. About our room: There was a squished mosquito left squished on the outer side of the bathtub😅, only 1/2 roll of TP on the tp holder with no extra rolls. The chrome flush handle on the toilet had fingerprint marks on it. The floors in bathroom also appeared dirty. There was a rip in wallpaper next to window as well. Also… Wifi was not super great. And all plug-ins were loose in our room so it was super hard to charge our phones. There was also cigarette and pot smell in our suite twice, also in elevators, and we heard people in stairs smoking at 2am. I also missed the signature holiday inn scent that used to be sprayed in rooms and you could smell it when you enter the lobby. This location doesnt seem to have it which was a bummer bc this hotel could definitely use it. We stayed for 2 nites (3 rooms total between all family members). After our first nite, we had our room cleaned on day 2 of our stay.. didnt change sheets! But maybe thats the norm in some Holiday Inns? (not all though.. I know of some Holiday Inns that always change bedding every morning no matter what). Here, they only made the bed. They did a quick surface wipe down but didnt shine any faucets/taps, & didnt sweep or clean bathroom floors. Regarding breakfast area: There was also a broken (extremely wobbly)table and broken chair (back of chair). Also the pumps of cream next to their coffee station was not pleasant (“double double cream” in particular.. when you pumped it out, it looked watery and unappealing. And you couldn’t get access to the individual mini little cups of real cream except only at breakfast time. The other thing my family didnt love was the pool/hot tub closing so early (10pm).. itd be nice to access the hot tub til at least midnite. Re Staff: none of the housekeepers smiled back or said Hi. 😕They didnt look happy or look like they were loving their job or had pride in the job. Overall, the cleanliness was not up to par for us. It is probably good enough for anyone who dont place importance on hotels being super clean. But for anyone who is particular about cleaning.. I would question the cleanliness of this hotel. We will definitely check out other hotels in Calgary in the future.
