I had a very bad experience with the staff working at the front desk i had a room booked for 4 nights through app and was not showing to add kids with adults i talked to the staff on front desk Liam or Lian i believe my daughter just turned 12 she added her as adult in the breakfast vouchers but didn’t inform me that it will be extra charges as my reservation was booked with free breakfast and on my check out she charged me $60 for breakfast and when I asked i supposed to know the charges at my check in so i could contact the customer service of the booking app and she started arguing that she informed me but she didn’t and she said i been working here for 15 years whatever I said is true and she was making me a liar it’s not that i had issues for paying but they should be honest i am booking with holiday inn for long time never disappointed but this location was my first time booking and was very disappointed will not book again

Absolutely horrible experience.
We booked this hotel well in advance for our night in Calgary. After a long day of driving, hiking, and climbing, we arrived shortly after midnight, only to be told at the front desk that our reservation had been cancelled. The front desk employee said there was no apparent reason for the cancellation and no notes explaining it. They told us there was nothing they were willing to do to help, and that we needed to call the booking number.
We called, and the woman on the phone told us the reservation had been cancelled “on a website.” We explained that we had never cancelled it and asked who cancelled it and why. She refused to explain, told us they would not rebook us, said there was nothing they could do, and then hung up on us. This was especially serious because the WestJet strikes had completely filled hotels across Calgary. There were no rooms available anywhere in the city. We had planned ahead and booked our room well in advance, yet we were left with nowhere to stay or sleep at 1 AM, through no fault of our own.
The staff showed zero compassion or urgency toward two stranded travelers in the middle of the night. Nobody took responsibility or made any real effort to help, even though this was one hundred percent a mistake by someone working for the hotel. We had to drive two hours away to the town of Drumheller at 1 AM to find a different hotel to sleep at. We followed up the next day, and the following week, and still have no explanation, resolution, or answers. Nobody has been able to tell us why the reservation was cancelled, who cancelled it, or why we were left without a room and treated so poorly. We received no apology or compensation either. The cancellation was unacceptable. The complete lack of help, explanation, or compassion from the staff made it even worse. Nobody deserves to be treated this way, and if you value your money, time, and sanity, please do not book at this hotel.

It's the best night's sleep I've had so far .
The hotel has good sound insulation and I can't hear anything from other rooms etc .
A great comfortable bed and pillow ...clean shower and just a nice place to get a good night's sleep .
There is also a pool and a gym .
Didn't try the breakfast as it's $15 dollars per person.

The lobby would make it seem the rooms are spacious and new as the lobby looks great, but a room with 2 queen size beds was tiny and cramped, the glass sliding doors in the bathroom shower squealed so loud when opening and closing and had rust in the runners. Caulking needs redoing in the bathrooms its discolored and coming off in some spots, there was also hair bobby pin left behind on the counter, it just didn't feel clean. The family we travelled with had issues with their room being muggy and humid. When warming up food in the microwave it took about 4 minutes so that needs to be upgraded too. Worst part was the fire alarm going off at 11pm, I have trauma from a recent past fire so I was having ptsd melt down trying to get my kids out when they were both asleep. There was absolutely no courtesy calls to guests after this, no explanations given or check ins, we didn't even hear from hotel staff when or if it was safe to go back inside it was just a game of telephone from the rest of the guests who were closer to where the firetruck parked at the front. Look back at other reviews and apparently this is a reoccurring issue, not a one off. Just a horrible experience, I don't think we'll ever be booking a Holiday Inn again. Days Inn, Ramada, or Best Western have much better service and nicer rooms
Fire alarm went off at 11:15pm. Firefighters showed up. Many guests went outside the front doors. Once the firefighters cleared the guests to return to their rooms I overheard the firefighter tell the manager that this hotel has had several false alarms that aren’t being addressed. Choose wisely if staying in Calgary. Also, breakfast is 15$ if want to purchase it upon checking in or 20$ in the morning. We will be choosing a different hotel for our next stay.
