  This hotel is a gem!!! The rooms are basic and no nonsense but they elevate them with the cleanliness, great pillows (and many pillows) comfortable beds, clean, clean and clean bathrooms with lots of towels. The staff goes above and beyond for their guests to make sure they are happy. Breakfast is great and the breakfast room is fantastic. Staff at the desk, cleaning staff and food staff are all very nice and polite. Well equipped fitness center had enough to get me through 3 days without needing to go elsewhere. I have stayed at this hotel for business over the last 3/4 years and the quality, service and cleanliness has only improved with every stay. I travel for work a lot and for the price point and for the location and services this hotel is a serious gem! Don’t hesitate to book it. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I appreciate some amenities that they just don’t have as a 3 star inn, not their issue, just my point of view.

  I have stayed here multiple times and have had a great experience every time. The staff is friendly and attentive. The breakfast options are great and the dining area is spacious and clean. The area around the hotel has lots of options for food. I highly recommend this hotel if spending time in Nanaimo!

  Awesome hotel! Love the carpeted rooms, great smell, and the location can't be beat right next to the mall, galaxy cinemas, landmark cinemas, Home Depot, Walmart, Canadian Tire, and Superstore. My one complaint is the TV's in the dining room. I heard others complaining as well. There is no escape from them and many do not want to see the news while eating their breakfast in a dining room. Whatever happened to piano and running water sounds? Anyway, great place and I'll be back!

  I've been traveling to Nanaimo on business for the past year and a half. The front desk staff have been excellent! Shar, and especially Devon, have always taken great care of me! Devon is always cheerful yet professional, ensuring a comfortable stay. I'll be staying at the Northgate whenever I visit the island, because you just can't beat the great service!

  Simply Amazing. Absolutely one of the best experiences I've had with customer service anywhere! Shout out to Devon Swann for making this stay one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Would wholeheartedly recommend any place that she's dispensing her customer services as I was in awe of the way she helped me with my bookings and my points rewards program. Good Job @BestWestern Northgate for hiring excellent employees who creates magic for their guest. Thank you for your services.
