  My stay was great! The rooms were clean and updated, staff were kind, the breakfast buffet was good also. Although, the service I’ve received post-stay, has been horrible. I left a sentimental item in my room, I phoned the day after we checked out and the front desk transferred to leave a message with lost and found/housekeeping but never received a call back. I have left a message for the last three days and have not received a call back. I have called the front desk as well and they have been less than helpful as well as rude when I am simply asking for an answer. I have also tried to get a hold of the general manager but does not seem to be there often. This is a very frustrating situation, especially being a sentimental item to my family, and knowing it was 100% left in my room. Seems like once they have your money, they don’t care anymore.

  The hotel was relatively clean but dated, especially the washroom. If they had renovated the washrooms and changed the colour of the room then it would be much better. The breakfast was really good though and the front lobby had a nice seating area.

  We stayed at the Best Western in Courtenay, booking two rooms with a 'mountain view,' but we were shocked to see that all we had was a view of a brick wall—completely misleading, especially after a beautiful stay in Tofino. The rooms are clean, but they’re definitely older - though they were fine for a basic stay. Breakfast was decent, no major issues there. The biggest letdown was that the pool and hot tub were closed due to COVID, which we didn’t realize until after booking—if we’d known, we would have gone elsewhere, especially since we had an early flight the next morning. Sadly, we couldn’t switch in time, so we stayed both nights, but I wouldn’t stay again.
