We recently stayed at the Hilton in Burnaby and also hosted our daughter’s wedding dinner there, and the experience was exceptional. The staff are truly the best, and we want to give a special shout‑out to Erika - catering sales manager who consistently gave us excellent service. We were helped with almost everything, even though we chose to do most of our own decorations and setup. The team was always nearby, ready to assist with anything we needed. All staff went above and beyond our expectations. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. The ballroom exceeded our expectations—it was larger than what we thought we needed, giving us plenty of space to create the perfect atmosphere for the celebration. Thank you to Erika and the entire Hilton Burnaby team for making such an important event smooth, memorable, and stress‑free. Highly recommended place. The entire staff not only deserve a standing ovation but also deserve a raise for the excellent experience we had.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Refused to let me check in cause i didnt have a credit card. Wouldnt let me pay damage deposit in cash/debit. Then when i was able to get a credit card to check in, they refused to give me a cot for my 7 year old niece. Had the hotel for 2 nights and after the 1st night my card was deactivated so I couldnt get into my room. 350 a night for this dump, I wouldnt even pay 50 dollars to stay here. I get treated 100 times better at hotels priced at 100 dollars a night. I pray people read this review and choose a different place to stay. The heated "pool" is also a joke. Its like 5 feet wide.

Day 5 — The Hilton Situation To whom it may concern, and more importantly, to anyone with a helicopter and a strong moral compass, I remain held against my will in a Hilton hotel somewhere in Vancouver. The captors are subtle. Professional. Ruthless. They smile as they do it. Every morning they force upon me an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Eggs appear in more forms than I knew were legally permitted. Waffles are dispensed by a machine that stares into my soul. There is smoked salmon. There is yogurt in glass jars. Yesterday… there was a man making omelettes to order. I fear he knows my name now. I have tried to signal for help by taking only one croissant. They responded by offering me pastries “fresh from the oven.” Savages. The coffee never stops. I have had four. Possibly twelve. Time has lost meaning. Between feedings, I am confined to a room equipped with an enormous television offering endless movies on demand. I attempted escape by selecting something educational. They countered with complimentary premium channels. I am now three action films deep and emotionally attached to a talking raccoon. Housekeeping arrives daily, asking if I require anything. I whispered, “Freedom.” They misheard and brought extra towels. So many towels. If this message reaches the outside world, tell my family I was brave. Tell them I fought. Tell them I considered skipping breakfast… but the hash browns were exceptional and I am only human. Please send assistance immediately. Or at minimum… a belt with more forgiving elastic. Yours in captivity, A Very Well-Fed Hostage Hilton, Vancouver (Last seen near the waffle station)

The only reason I gave this hotel a 2 star and not 1 is because they upgraded my room after asking for one more than once (I was staying here for work for 18 days) Positives Jacuzzi is really hot although tiny. Location is really central as many have mentioned. Breakfast was much better than most hotels although it's pricey if it's not included with your room. Negatives The check in was unprofessional, the front desk told me my room didn't include breakfast or free parking. I had to check my reservation and corrected him. Nobody at the front (bellhop) to ask if I wanted help with my luggage. Nobody greeting (ever!). Lobby is usually cold in the winter. Received a handicap accessible room. When I showered water was all over the washroom. Switches were super low, kinda awkward unless you have kids in the room. Rooms are small (unless you get the upgraded rooms), the lower room floors view is horrible, looking out at the plaza. Mountains are visible but anywhere in Burnaby you'll get the same. Blanket disgustingly dirty. I think it's mold building on it. I showed the pictures to the manager and he said last year another guest had brought this up to him and he told them that that's the color of the brown feathers and it wasn't mold. So I went to a bedding store in metropolis mall and showed them the pictures and they said that was disgusting and that they must have washed them without drying them properly so the feathers held the moisture and caused it to mold. They also explained thatnthe feathers in the down would typically get a whitening. No wonder I saw another post here saying they saw bed bugs. Anyways after seeing the blanket like that I felt itchy for the rest of my stay. Needless to say I checked out 10 days early. My TV sound kept cutting out and was choppy. Also it took forever to change between channels. Asked for a service tech and they fixed it quickly. Although I had the fan in the room on "low" it was still super loud. They don't provide any utensils in the room. I used the glass cups one day and they just took them away and never replaced them, strange. Kitchen staff and housekeeping using the elevators like they own them. Should have separate elevator for services like restaurant and housekeeping. If the kitchen is right by the gym and pool access, at the very least keep the door closed. It's loud and you can hear the staff talking. Unprofessional. No sauna and the pool is tiny. Staff in general is unfriendly and unprofessional (not all of course). I got used to a certain standard with certain hotels and this did not meet it at all. Staff should be smiling at people, saying hello. The breakfast staff is very very unfriendly. One of them was nice but the rest should not be working in the hospitality business. Had a blond young female at the front be very rude to me. I told her don't be rude and asked for her name a couple of times and she wouldn't do it and said "you are harrassing me". The gentlemen behind me looked at me like what's wrong with this woman. I complained to the hotel manager and he said he would address it. On Feb. 16 by 10 am all the breakfast was cleared out although it says breakfast daily until 11 am. Very confusing. I would typically grab breakfast before going to work so I was only there until later bc of family day. Ice machines in majority of floors isn't working. This has been an ongoing issue for years based on previous reviews but they choose not to fix it. At least remove them completely then. My co-worker had a reservation, they told them they were fully booked for the night and apologized. Many other reviews have said the same thing. Very low standard Hilton Hotel and I've been in many hotels all around the world. We're paying for top quality service, peace and tranquility. This was disappointing. Reminds me more of a Holiday Inn. I will never stay in this hotel again. Id recommend staying in the Element hotel nearby, which is much nicer, free breakfast, friendly staff, much bigger rooms and overall cheaper prices.

The hotel is situated in a great location. This part of Burnaby is very clean, and it is a five-minute walk from Metropolis at Metrotown, the SkyTrain, and several parks/green areas if you are travelling with pets. There are many local and chain restaurant options within walking distance. The beds and linens in the room were very comfortable and soft, and there was a great pillow selection on the bed. The list of nice things ends here. Booking and Check-in I booked the room through the hotel’s website. I paid for a High-Floor City View King room, plus an additional $55 pet fee, as I was travelling with my dog. Upon check-in, I was informed by Raj at the front desk that since I was travelling with a pet, they could only give me a room on floors 4, 5, or 6, as those are the pet-friendly floors. He also informed me that they did not have any king-bed rooms on those floors—only rooms with two queen beds. I asked about the price difference between what I paid for and what I was being given and was met with, “We are fully sold out, so I can’t refund you the difference.” He did comp our parking fee and the early check-in fee. I don’t understand the early check-in fee—if the room is ready, why is there a charge to give me the keys a couple of hours early? Upon further questioning, I was informed that high-floor city-view rooms are offered based on availability only. Why are you selling rooms that are not available? Hotel Property and Room The lobby appears to be newly renovated and is fairly spacious and bright. The rooms, however, are old and tired. We stayed in room 606. The sink was semi-clogged, and the toilet seat was old and beat up. The carpet needs a good deep clean. Since we were on a pet-friendly floor, you could tell there was a lot of staining and trapped pet dander in both the hallway carpet and the room. Parking Parking at this location is quite literally the most confusing setup I have ever encountered. It is underground and shared with the mall. Hotel guests are supposed to park in the dark navy stalls, but some dark navy stalls are reserved for Diamond Plus members. There was extremely limited parking upon our return to the hotel around 11 p.m. It felt like we had to descend to the depths of the underground to find a stall. If you have a truck or a larger vehicle, good luck. Some of the turns are extremely sharp and would be very difficult to navigate in anything bigger than a sedan. Overall Probably a 2.5–3 star stay. Fine for one night, but extremely frustrating to have paid for something through the hotel’s booking system only to be told that it didn’t matter what I paid for—this is what I get.
