This stay was truly unfortunate. The door lock malfunctioned multiple times, and my room was filled with smoke. When I informed the staff about the smoke, they offered to move me to a different room type, not a suite that I paid for. However, I declined because I needed the work space. Which I regretted and it followed with multiple issues.
The lock continued to unprogram the key, the bathroom wall tiles were falling off, the toilet chain kept falling off the handle, and the internet didn’t work. Even basic TV functions like Netflix didn’t work.
The staff needs to be trained on how to effectively handle room issues. If the original reservation room type smelled of smoke, the staff shouldn’t inform guests that they must downgrade to a smaller room if they want to move rooms. It’s not our fault as guests; it’s the managers or head housekeepers’ job to inspect their rooms. As a manager, this should be implemented.
There are multiple issues, and it’s unfortunate that this property had potential but lacks proper guidance and management. The location is perfect, but I’ll definitely avoid this location for a peaceful stay in the future.

Front desk staff was friendly and the hotel's in a decent location near a bunch of restaurants and shops down the road, but everything else was disappointing.
Parking lot outside the room was shut off due to construction, construction equipment sat right outside the rooms, ants up the wall to the nightstand (Google won't let me add a photo), floor flexed in places when stepped on, tub/shower combo leaked and was rusted at the bottom, bathroom door was installed wonky so it had to be forced shut, and the front door didn't seem to be sealed properly or it's a super cheap/thin door - we could hear every sound as if the door didn't exist. I can sleep through a lot, but we were up until about 2am because we could hear the nearby guests, the people outside the room, the traffic from the nearby street, etc. loud and clear at all times.
I powered through one night, but I wouldn't stay here again. I'd rather pay the extra $20 to stay at the nearby Hilton or somewhere a lot nicer for a tiny more. Not sure if the cheap construction and damage in the room was post-renovation or pre-renovation (some bits like shower tile looked brand new, some parts were clearly super old and just repainted), but the manager should review either way. That stuff either needs to be addressed during construction or added to the list of things to be renovated/fixed.
