I didn’t have particularly high expectations when booking this hotel, however the situation we encountered was one of the worst. We booked a room for one night on January 2 due to its location close to the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned was not only located in the worst possible spot, right next to the ice machine where there was constant noise from people in the corridor, but when we entered the hotel and the room — which was supposed to be ready — it turned out that the bedding was not fresh, the room had not been cleaned, and it was not prepared for new guests at all. After reporting the issue at the front desk, we were told that the situation would be quickly resolved and the room would be prepared properly. We waited about an hour. After that hour, we returned to the room and it turned out that someone had only made the bed — and carelessly — while none of the bedding had actually been changed. This resulted in yet another hour of waiting for the bedding to be replaced. After first complain we received a voucher for a free breakfast as well as an additional $15 food voucher for the restaurant, which in itself would have been acceptable compensation if the bedding had actually been replaced the first time. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The service was definitely disappointing. The location is the only thing that works in this hotel; however, the quality of service is below criticism. Attached is a picture of the room when we entered for the first time.

Our room was clean and a good size. I liked that they had a king bed and bunk bed in our room too. The beds were very comfortable. The only issue we had was with the air, other than that no complaints. When we got there, it was a few minutes before the indoor pool closed but they told us they would keep it open for us later. We didn't expect them to keep it open an hour later. There was a lot of things to do there for kids and family. When we checked in they also gave us an arcade card. Very clean hotel too and literally 5 minutes from the Grand Canyon.

I don’t know what the 5 start raters are smoking but I want some. There’s nothing resort about this place. It’s over priced, dirty and run down. It was probably nice 20+ years ago but it needs a serious makeover. You’ll in all likelihood be placed in an out building away from the main lobby. The halls are narrow and dingy and the carpeting is just plain nasty. And that’s just the outside. Once in the room you’ll be treated to more dingy carpet. The refrigerator was so loud even in the cabinet, we had to unplug it to hear ourselves think. The heater is so ridiculously noisy we had to shut it off to sleep. We tried to call the office to complain but the phone didn’t work! Yea, we should have left but at 10p taking the chance there was a vacancy close by was a gamble. Trekking to the lobby from the farthest out building in 15deg weather wasn’t worth the hassle so we sucked it up. Just a warning to anyone else sucked in by the slick pics. Could have got better from the Super 8 for a lot less.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We made a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel! Upon check in, we arrived early and exhausted from our long drive and we were able to get an early check-in, receptionist was so kind. The rooms were so clean and we were able to park right in front of our hotel room which was such a plus. The hotel also had its holiday decorations which made the hotel 10x better! Not only that but they offered free tea, hot cocoa, and coffee whenever you wanted! Such a plus after a long day as well. It was only around 15ish minutes (with traffic) to the Grand Canyon entrance and super close to restaurants. The thing we most enjoyed was the smores that the hotel offered from 6pm-8pm. Truly such an excellent way to end the night. We could not have been happier with the hotel. And lastly, their buffet breakfast for only $20, such a steal! We loved that it was open at 6AM since we wanted to get up early. From a nice check in, clean rooms, complimentary drinks, and smores, we were so happy to have booked with Holiday Inn Resort at the Grand Canyon! The manager was also so kind to stand in the reception and check in on the guests, he checked in on us multiple times throughout our stay! Would 100% book again if we visit the Grand Canyon again!

This was honestly one of the highlights of our Grand Canyon trip. We booked a holiday getaway in Vegas, drove through Utah to see the sights and visit the hot springs, and then headed into the Grand Canyon to do our hike on Christmas Day, which was truly amazing. We came across this Holiday Inn Resort and decided to give it a try. I have stayed at Holiday Inn hotels before and have always been content, but I had never stayed at one of their resorts. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and the amenities available during our stay. The experience was well worth the trip. The staff were amazing, and celebrating Christmas with the team on site made it even more special. The s’mores were one of the highlights and provided a great opportunity to mingle with other guests. I honestly have nothing negative to say. We would absolutely stay here again if we make this trip in the future, and even if we do not, we would confidently recommend it to others. Thank you to the Holiday Inn Resort team for making this such a memorable trip for us.
