The Worst Holiday Inn Experience of My Life – from a Diamond Elite Ambassador who has spent hundreds of nights around the world I am an IHG Diamond Elite Ambassador, and I have spent hundreds of nights in Holiday Inns across the world – Europe, America, Asia. Never, and I mean NEVER, have I encountered such incompetence, indifference, and disorganization as in this property. This is not about “status recognition.” This is about the complete absence of basic professionalism toward any guest, even the most ordinary one. Room not cleaned: the sentence that sums up the entire stay I reported that my room had not been cleaned or serviced. The answer I received was: “Oh, but you’re leaving the day after tomorrow anyway.” A single sentence that perfectly represents the staff’s attitude: carelessness elevated to standard procedure. Two-night stay → zero cleaning → problem solved… for them. Invented charges: breakfast and dinner I never had At check-out, I discovered I had been charged for: – a breakfast that, as a Diamond, should have been complimentary, – a dinner I never had in the hotel. The reception’s reaction? “Go sort it out with the breakfast team.” A response more fitting for a chaotic hostel than for an international hotel chain. Breakfast team: a disaster in motion I go to the breakfast area. Two young staff members had managed to create a queue of ten people in front of a dining room that was half empty. Their attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. They made me wait for no reason and replied to my question with a curt, rude: “That’s how it is.” When I asked about the false charges: – they knew nothing, – they had no idea how to check, – they had no idea what to do. They called the supervisor as if they were facing a crisis beyond their abilities. The supervisor: an aggravation, not a solution When the supervisor finally arrived, he didn’t even listen to my explanation. He simply told me to “go back to reception.” Exactly the opposite of what reception had told me minutes earlier. I explained that I’m not a ping-pong ball to be bounced between departments that are unable to communicate. He responded by reprimanding me for a harmless joke I had made earlier, completely out of context. Professional level: below zero. The three people responsible for this embarrassing spectacle – Supervisor (no name, as he did not introduce himself): authoritative without authority, no listening skills, no competence, no responsibility. – Nikki: disinterested, unprofessional, and wearing her hair loose while serving in a breakfast area — not exactly an example of hygiene. – Cheyenne: rude, touchy, and entirely unfit for dealing with guests. Conclusion: a parody of what a Holiday Inn should be I have stayed in Holiday Inns all over the planet, from major capitals to remote corners of the world. Never have I encountered a team so disorganized, disrespectful, and uninterested in their work. This property tarnishes the brand and undermines the entire IHG loyalty programme. If IHG wants to know how to destroy years of loyalty in a single stay, this place is the perfect case study.

The heater was horrible. It would not keep a stable temp. It was HOT----PERFECT----COLD----PERFECT----HOT----REPEAT all night! OMG! The door on the room had zero wheatherstripping and it sounded like the other rooms didn't either. It made for a loud boom when people were leaving at 6AM. It made it great to be able to hear the screaming child out there too. Why on earth would you not have weather stripping around doors jams!!?? The bed felt like it was at least 20 years old. My back still hurts. This was in the "2000" building, I don't know if the others are like that. Other than that the property was nice, the heated pool and hot tub were great.

My husband, two pups, and I had a wonderful stay at the Squire! We stayed for two nights while exploring the Grand Canyon. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant the first night, and the service was impeccable from Zach. He was very friendly and had wonderful suggestions about the menu and area. The amenities were awesome! We used the outdoor hot tub and I even took a plunge in the outdoor pool (I was happy that was open in November). The arcade was small but fun, and they did have bowling lanes although they were closed, which I assume was because of the time of year. The rooms were large and clean and the beds were comfortable. There were also nice grassy areas for the dogs. The location was so convenient to explore the Grand Canyon, and the town was clean and cute. Before leaving, we bought some gifts in the gift shop before departing and Davani wrapped them up really well so they wouldn’t break on the way home. He was also incredibly friendly. Every person we encountered working at the hotel seemed to be. We would definitely stay again!
