Just off I-10 in the shadow of Sentinel Peak, The Tuxon Hotel revives the golden age of the American road trip—minus the scratchy towels and stale coffee. We've rebuilt the classic motor lodge for modern travelers who value design, culture, and character over clichés.
Shady Cactus Swim Club
Our pool isn't just an amenity—it's Tucson's most photogenic poolside scene. Join us daily at 5:30 PM for the Shady Toast, frozen slushy shots, and that golden hour magic where travelers and locals mix effortlessly over chili-laced cocktails and Baja bites.
Downtown Tucson Hotel Location
Located near the Mercado District and minutes from the University of Arizona, The Tuxon offers easy access to downtown Tucson, 4th Avenue's indie shops, desert hiking trails, Sonoran hot dogs, and dive bars—by bike, foot, or streetcar. Complimentary bikes and free parking included. It's your basecamp for the authentic Tucson experience.
Desert-Modern Hotel Rooms
Our boutique guest rooms feature walk-in tile showers, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, curated local art, and beds designed for real rest. Smart, stylish, and unmistakably Tucson.

Gated. We had walked into a super 8 nearby and left within a minute after seeing these small black bugs crawling everywhere including on the bed. It was middle of the night and we had to find something fast as we had two babies who wanted to rest. We came here because of the reviews and pictures. Thank god for honest people. This place felt so safe and the room was so clean that the floor felt safe enough to sleep on. The friendly staff accommodated our pillow request right away. What more can you ask for when stopping by a city you know nothing about. No noise issues. The a/c was kind of interesting to figure out though.

Nice hotel, cool modern rooms and very comfy beds! The pool area is top notch and the restaurant serves up some delicious dishes. This was my second stay at TUXON and I will definitely be back… its my new “go-to” place when visiting Tucson.

This hotel is in a very bad part of town. They lie about their location. They claim they are close to Banner Hospital and prey on the elderly who have to have surgery. It is not a safe place to be and they won’t refund even a penny when you arrive and discover it. Elderly who had to have surgery in the early morning are not safe to go out and yet they won’t give a refund. Much nicer places the stay in Tucson.

The Tuxon has so much character and a noatalgic, artsy vibe that's rare but so refreshing. We couldn't believe the attention to detail in the decor, landscaping, murals, and how elegant the bar/lounge and pool area are. The staff was also surprisingly friendly.
From the shell of an old-school style motel they created a really fun and nostalgic experience. The rooms are completely redone, and the public spaces really uplift the experience. They're nicer than many more expensive hotels offer. We loved the vegetation and even discovered a small cactus garden/private outdoor walking area adjacent to the parking lot.
As tourists, we had no idea how prime the Tuxon's location is until we realized that many of the cool spots our local Tucson friends took us to were within a 1 to 5 minute drive of our hotel. The Tucson Gem & Mineral show is walking distance, as is the Chuck Huckelberry Loop/greenbelt that runs throughout Tucson and is so nice for walking or biking. "A" Mountain (with panoramic views of the city) is minutes west, as is the MSA Annex--a really cool cluster of eclectic restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and shops built out of shipping containers. And Downtown and Historic 4th are also just north. Through Tucson is fairly sprawling, I-10 makes everything quickly accessible.
Keep up the excellent work!
