Just off I-10 in the shadow of Sentinel Peak, The Tuxon Hotel revives the golden age of the American road trip—minus the scratchy towels and stale coffee. We've rebuilt the classic motor lodge for modern travelers who value design, culture, and character over clichés.
Shady Cactus Swim Club
Our pool isn't just an amenity—it's Tucson's most photogenic poolside scene. Join us daily at 5:30 PM for the Shady Toast, frozen slushy shots, and that golden hour magic where travelers and locals mix effortlessly over chili-laced cocktails and Baja bites.
Downtown Tucson Hotel Location
Located near the Mercado District and minutes from the University of Arizona, The Tuxon offers easy access to downtown Tucson, 4th Avenue's indie shops, desert hiking trails, Sonoran hot dogs, and dive bars—by bike, foot, or streetcar. Complimentary bikes and free parking included. It's your basecamp for the authentic Tucson experience.
Desert-Modern Hotel Rooms
Our boutique guest rooms feature walk-in tile showers, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, curated local art, and beds designed for real rest. Smart, stylish, and unmistakably Tucson.
This isn't boutique hotel cosplay—it's the real deal. Wild desert. Urban edge. No wrong turns.

The hotel itself is nice and modern. Beds were comfortable. Its location next to the highway isn’t great for visiting Tuscon. I would have chosen a central hotel instead had I known. But it’s fine for people who don’t need to walk anywhere.

If you are a light sleeper, AVOID. This place looks great but is next to a bad bad bad BARIO neighborhood. PLEASE for your own safety do not take the risks I take. The freeway is very loud here. The WiFi does not work. They do not answer the phone. Their booking system is run by robots. The humans here are helpless with a smile. Avoid booking with Super. Your reservation will be the wrong day and you will have to purchase an additional night. We got ripped off. IHG will do nothing for you if you book with a third party. No one is on your side. This model is a glorified vending machine. Much nicer hotels can be booked for slightly more money. The freeway is so unbelievably loud. I cannot emphasize enough that you will not be able to sleep. There is no where to put your things. So mad we booked here. Terrible. Can’t sleep.

Can’t say enough good things about Tuxon. As soon as we arrived it felt more like home than a hotel. That became even more apparent when we met the staff specifically Cassandra who gave us some of the best customer service we have received. Couldn’t recommend this place enough if you’re visiting the area.

Pulling up to this motel I knew immediately we had made a booking error. It’s in a terrible area that looks very unsafe and would be the type of area cars get broken into and people get mugged. There is actually a sign in the parking lot claiming owner is not responsible for vehicle break ins and theft. We decided to give it a try anyways given its positive reviews. Service is terrible. Couldn’t access room on multiple occasions and waited over 30 mins at the bar while new people came and left and the MALE bartender with a ponytail (to be as specific as I can) refused to even acknowledge my presence until my husband showed up and I suggested he order since I was refused service. Not worth a dollar, much less what they charge. Very upsetting and discriminatory. Borderline sexist. I am livid and will never visit this establishment again. I will share with anyone I possibly can about my experience here. This is absolutely unacceptable.

This place was a pleasant surprise! After driving for the day we found this gem right off of the freeway which was conveniently located close to downtown. It was designed with such unique flair and unexpected quality. We would have loved to stay another day if our trip had allowed. The staff was extremely accommodating, the pool & lobby was so cool and welcoming and the rooms were nice and cozy. The laundry room was a bonus too! I would definitely stay here again!
