A Reliable Gold Standard for Airport Stays
I stayed at this property about a year ago, and after a recent "nightmare" experience at a different hotel in the Phoenix airport area, I felt compelled to come back and leave a well-deserved 5-star review for this Hampton Inn.
Why this hotel stands out:
Cleanliness & Comfort: Even a year later, I remember how clean and well-maintained the rooms were. The "Hampton Bed" lived up to the reputation—it was a quiet, comfortable sanctuary.
Seamless Experience: Unlike other area hotels that nickel-and-dime you with third-party QR-code parking fees, the parking here was straightforward and included.
Reliable Amenities: The free hot breakfast was actually "hot" and well-stocked, and the staff was professional and welcoming from check-in to check-out.
Location: It is perfectly situated—close enough to Sky Harbor for a quick morning flight, but far enough away that you avoid the industrial grit and noise of the immediate airport perimeter.
Final Verdict: If you are choosing between the various airport-area hotels, do yourself a favor and pick this one. It is a consistently safe, clean, and hassle-free choice that sets the bar for what a traveler’s "haven" should be.

My flight was delayed and I missed my connection, so by the time I arrived at the Hampton Inn & Suites it was late Sunday night and I was already exhausted. The lobby was packed with other stranded travelers, there was a very long line, and to make things more stressful, the hotel had been overbooked on the back end.
Despite the chaos and obvious pressure, two employees — Lulu and Patrick — handled the situation with professionalism, calm, and genuine kindness. They stayed patient with every guest, communicated clearly, and worked hard to resolve issues as quickly as possible. It couldn’t have been an easy night, but they truly made a difference in an otherwise frustrating travel experience.
Huge thank you to Lulu and Patrick for their outstanding service under pressure. They’re a credit to the hotel.

Nice room, nice staff, weird lobby with 2nd floor exposed walkway.
The Hampton Inn in Tempe Airport was a godsend! My flight was canceled for the night and I had already returned my rental car. The free shuttle picked me up promptly and the ride to the hotel was like 5 minutes. The check-in was easy and friendly. The little market was well stocked with reasonable prices. My room was super clean, comfortable and had a great big desk for me to work at or use as a table to dine at. Breakfast was free and had a lot of options. The staff was kind and professional when someone tried to sneak in and eat without being a guest there. All in all I felt safe and well taken care of in the midst of a less than ideal situation. Hampton Inn Tempe Airport is my go-to on my trips to Phoenix from now on. Thank you!
