Do NOT stay at this hotel for any reason. I stayed one night just me and my husband no kids. We bought a personal frozen pizza from downstairs and put it in the microwave in the room. I accidentally dropped the pizza and landed on the bed because I was going to eat it while watching TV. The pizza got on the pillow case and bedspread at most. I check out the next morning and get a phone call that the bedding was completely ruined with bodily fluids!!!!!!!!!!! I was like what? I even left the pizza on the nightstand because I obviously didn’t eat it after it landed on the bed. I explained everything to the manager or whatever she was that called me to let me know my credit card was being charged $226 for ruining the bedding!!!!!! She told me the bedding was ruined and they had to trash it!!!!!! This is ridiculous I’ve never ever been charged for incidentals because we are decent people. This was an accident it was not something I planned or did on purpose. But to say that a personal size pizza ruined the pillow, the sheets, the mattress protector and the comforter is insane! I told them I was not ok with them charging me because there is no way all the bedding got damaged and had to be trashed there’s no way!!!!! I was told it would be escalated to the manager but the charge already was made to my credit card. This is terrible! If I’m paying that amount I need that bedding to be sent to my house I will wash it and use it since I’m paying for it then it’s mine right?????? And to accuse me of ruining the bedding with bodily fluids? Really? Pizza sauce is bodily fluids? Really? I’ve taken my kids and stayed on lots of hotels the kids have spilled soda, coffee, juice, eaten hot Cheetos etc and never ever been charged a penny! Do NOT stay here ever!!!!!!!! This was the most expensive night stay of my life! I’ll be waiting for the bedding I was already charged for! It better include shipping to my house of the complete bedding set that I paid for. If this was being escalated to the manager why was the charge already made?
I’ve stayed here once each of the past two years, most recently this past week. Had a nice stay each time. I’ve been especially impressed with the front desk staff, who deftly handled some system issues during my most recent stay. They did so with calm and good humor.
I found the room to be very comfortable. Solid wi-fi and the other amenities were as expected. If you’re here for something at Surprise Stadium, you can’t do any better as far as location. It’s an easy walk from the hotel. It used to be that this part of town was pretty barren as far as shopping and restaurants, but that has changed a lot in recent years. It’s just a mile to a nice selection of food and shopping.
The only part that I don’t feel compares favorably to other chains is the breakfast, but that’s a Holiday Inn Express thing and is not specific to this location.
Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Surprise.

I had a wonderful experience with the front desk staff, specifically Yolanda. I had messed up the dates of my reservation and she went did more than she needed to in order to help us out.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was excellent. The staff in charge of the breakfast were very friendly.

Upon arriving in our room my Daughter set her luggage down and had to use the bathroom and noticed a bug on the floor, she picked it up with a tissue and googled the picture and it was an Adult bed bug. We immediately called the front desk, two employees came up to the room one of them I believe was the manager, the woman with him immediately said it’s probably a carpet beatle we have lots of them. My daughter said no it’s not a carpet Beatle and showed her the picture. The women put the bug in a cup and we all proceeded downstairs and as soon as we got downstairs, the woman handed the cup with the bug to a housekeeping person. The housekeeping person immediately took it away. They gave us a new room and then we decided we needed to go to our dinner reservation so we went to our dinner reservations after our dinner reservations we came back to the hotel and we decided we needed to check out because we googled if there was one that was more so they gave us a really hard time trying to check out saying that we booked our room on booking.com which we did but we paid for it at the site because we didn’t pay for it on booking.com because we had the option of PAying on site and they were very rude to us and was snarky to us and they finally gave us a refund and we left. My advice is do not do not stay at this hotel. No one wants to stay at a hotel that has bedbugs

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Surprise, AZ and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Check-in was quick, the front desk team was warm and welcoming, and my room was spotless. The bed was super comfortable with both soft and firm pillows, the AC worked perfectly, and the room had everything I needed (mini-fridge, microwave, and plenty of outlets). Wi-Fi was fast and never dropped once.
The complimentary hot breakfast was a highlight
fresh options every morning, hot items that actually tasted good, and those signature cinnamon rolls hit the spot. The pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing, the fitness room had what I needed for a quick workout, and there’s ample, well lit free parking. Housekeeping was attentive and respectful of my schedule, and every staff member I met was friendly and eager to help.
Location is super convenient for getting around Surprise and the West Valley close to restaurants, shops, and Surprise Stadium. It was quiet at night, and I felt safe on the property.
Overall, excellent value for the price. If you’re visiting Surprise for work, spring training, or a getaway, this hotel delivers on comfort, cleanliness, and service. I’d absolutely stay again and highly recommend it.
