Overall, I was very disappointed in "the cottage" and feel that changes need to be made if the hotel wishes to continue offering the cottage as an accommodation. After a long day of travel with my family and small children i was very disappointed when we arrived at "the cottage" accommodation. My first disappointment came at check-in where I was I informed that the amenities (which we very influencal in my lodging decision) were not located on the Best Western site but actually on the neighboring resort which was not easily accessible. And most disappointing was that the indoor pool wasn't operational. This had been one of the main reasons for booking over other hotel so that I could take my young son swimming in the mild February temperatures. This all should be more clearly stated in the hotel listing. We then had to get back out on the busy main street and go back behind the hotel along a commuter/camping lot to the cottage which had little curb appeal but which had a beautiful view if you ingnored the caution taping all just across the street. All during our stay random people where coming up from the parking lot right at our car and cottage door and using the stairs to access street level. I would recommend locking the back gate to discourage cut through via the Best Western stairs. These were not employees. It made us quite uncomfortable. When we opened the door I was very upset. The furniture in living room is entirely worn out and should be replaced. The upholstery was stained and cushions so worn that you didnt even sit level. The same was the condition of the outdoor seat cushions. It felt like cast off that really should be trash but had been put in the back cottage. I didnt even want to sit down. A rollway bed had been delivered prior to our arrival (that I did not request) and I request that a refund be issued for that fee. I had assumed it was left in the cottage because of the difficulty in delivery. We knew we were going to be during the superbowl so had wanted a comfortable seating area and space. During the game after half time the cable quit working and we weren't able to watch the remainder. The breakfast was another reason we booked and it was delicious and the staff was very attentive and kind. The views from the balocony at breakfast were great.

Great location but the property is dated and overpriced for what you get. Our first room had filthy carpet so we moved to another room for the second night. Breakfast was good. Front Desk staff excellent. The tip jar in the breakfast room was tacky considering the room rental price. As was the online request for a tip at checkout. The rooms need gutted and updated.

The rooms are ok, but dated. You are paying for the location and view only. I requested an early check in which was granted, however, I did not check in until 5:00pm. At check in I was told I would not be charged for the early check in since I arrived at 5:00pm. After checking out, I was charged the fee anyway. I called the front desk and let them know, and they said they would remove the charge. I was still charged the early check in fee and that has posted to my credit card. Be advised, if you request an early check in, you will be charged regardless of whether or not you actually check in early.

Edit: Response to the first hotel's response on 2nd par. The hotel deleted this response, but my answer captures its essence of that communication. Their revised response is meaningless. Overated, over priced, dated. The sofa has matured to a garage sale level. The balcony furniture is falling apart (see picture). The lock on the door is missing one half (see picture). The $20/night parking charge is deceptive--it is on an unexpected web page and not on the room price detail; it doesn't meet industry standards. The $25 for 40 minutes early check in is ridiculous. No idea how this place got 4.5 stars, must be by rating bots. Response: You need to put your money where your mouth is. If you wrongly advertised the hotel, you need to discount the room. You agreed that the furniture are old and pledged to replace some next year. Do you really think that I care if you will renovate the room next year? How does this contribute to my already paid experience? You agreed that the parking fee was presented in the wrong place but still left it for everyone. I find that charge deceptive. You agreed that the early check in charge was not properly presented. This is all false advertisement. Your original response was a lot of words and no substance, and you now deleted it in favor of a meaningless generic text.

This review is long overdue I’m sorry life got in the way, we were there 3rd week of august for our 20th anniversary before arrival I was contacted by Brittany asking if there was anything she could do for our stay, we had a redrock view room I asked for a high floor, on arrival we met David at the front desk great guy so nice and filled with info for us, we got a great 4th floor room (5th floor was top) with an amazing view, everyone at hotel was great we had an issue with our tv maintenance guy was super nice (can’t remember his name but he had a beard) he tried everything to fix it but couldn’t get regular tv they offered to move us but we were already settled in, next day we go to Grand Canyon for the day we returned and our tv was fixed without us even asking or complaining and we were given a credit to our bill by Brittany who went above and beyond to make us happy!!! We were there to sight see but at nite having a tv was nice thank you Brittany and maintenance!!! Also Karina was extremely nice always smiling and helpful with local recommendations, I can’t say enough about the customer service at this hotel, and the young woman and man at breakfast very nice, location was everything you can walk to all the restaurants bars shops in town, take the hour trolly ride to cathedral rock holy cross well worth it!!!
