It is worth noting the manner in which I was checked in today by Elexus... Kind, compassionate, and highly professional. This is the standard of care and service I believe should define all places of hospitality. A grateful customer!

Stayed for three nights. The beds here were the worst part of the stay. Both my mother and I woke up every morning with sore hips, backs, and shoulders. The pillows were also extremely flat once you laid on them. This was a staycation, so a bit disappointing and made us both miss our own beds. Not what you want for a mini vacation. We also got locked out of our room on the last night because our door was malfunctioning. The front desk attendant was very sweet, but bad timing because another guest was having trouble finding their reservation and checking in. It took us about 45 minutes to get it resolved, which was having to pack up everything at 7:30pm and move to another room on our last night. Overall, pretty disappointed with our stay. A relaxing staycation was not what either of us would call relaxing. I appreciate the kindness of the all staff members we met, but the hotel room itself was not up to standard.

Unacceptable behavior, intimidation, and discriminatory treatment I am currently staying at Tru by Hilton Scottsdale Salt River, and this has been one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. On December 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, while sitting calmly in the hotel lobby as a registered guest, I was told by the front desk receptionist that I was not allowed to remain in the lobby, without any valid explanation or reference to hotel policy. I was not loud, disruptive, or violating any rules. When I questioned this treatment and mentioned that I intended to leave a review, the receptionist refused to provide her name and then threatened to apply an additional, unspecified charge to my stay, which felt like retaliation. Shortly after, the lobby lights were turned off, seemingly to force us to leave the area. What made this situation even more concerning is that the receptionist’s tone and behavior felt discriminatory and biased. As a Latino guest, I could not help but feel targeted and treated differently, which made the experience deeply uncomfortable. Additionally, housekeeping did not clean my room until two days after check-in, and when the room was finally serviced, trash was left on the table, reflecting extremely poor cleanliness standards. This behavior is far below Hilton’s service expectations. The combination of intimidation, poor housekeeping, and treatment that felt discriminatory is unacceptable. I would not recommend this property to anyone. Hilton corporate should seriously investigate this incident.

Not perfect, and it pains me to give 5 stars to a mega corporation, 4 1/2 is probably fair, but a couple things made me not want to ding it down to 4. In particular, the staff was always pleasant and helpful during a two week emergency stay. The room was top notch for a long stay, nice touches including the desk on wheels to set up wherever want. Clean and modern. The breakfast was good, a little above average for the type. The pool while small is well heated with a hot tub. The fitness room has a lot of cardio equipment, dumbbells and a bench and one multi-machine. There are several restaurants within a couple minute walk. The few downsides include complete ridiculousness on the price of doing laundry. $3 for one load to wash, $3 for one load to dry, and then $3 for a one-use detergent package. So well worth to buy detergent somewhere or even find somewhere else to do laundry, although doing it with the fitness room next to the laundry room is convenient. FYI, its a Hilton, and they don't believe in free wifi for all, so if not a member there may be a charge or degraded internet speed.
