  We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Gold Dust Street as part of a Holiday Inn Club Vacations promotional stay, and the condition of our room has been extremely disappointing. Multiple outlets don’t work, the shower head is corroded, the curtain is torn, the tub has black marks, and there were old food crumbs on the bathroom floor. The toilet barely flushes, the AC/heater is loud and clanks constantly, the ceiling fan doesn’t work, and paint is peeling from the ceiling. When we asked about improving the situation, we were told nothing could be done because we already completed the tour and received the promotional reward. That response was frustrating. This experience has not reflected well on the brand

  Very clean hotel and rooms, with good access to restaurants. Unfortunately, the highway noise is awful, making sleep difficult.

  After we checked in and put our stuff away, my kids were horrified to see the gross scene, the bathtub was stained with food residues like someone’s vomit or pour left over Ramen noodles. Clearly it is not being cleaned before being checked out to us. The front desk changed the room for us. But our kids are having post traumatic disorder even with new room. They complain it smells and feel creepy. Anyway, a positive side is my kids have learned not to trust hotel rooms however tidy the bed sheets may look.

  They’re doing construction and the laundry room on our floor was closed, but we found out all of this at check in and about our laundry room on our floor being closed when we got to our floor. It was not on IHG app or website when we checked in. However, they lied at check in. Also we COULD NOT take showers from 10 am - I think it was 4pm or something. So when we got there thank god we were able to shower on our road trip, but next morning we had to make sure we got up in time to shower before 10am. Which it depends on how tired we are. Wasn’t posted on website at all at that time. The noise from the construction was also waking us up in the morning. Also scared the bajeezies out of me when I saw this photo, if I didn’t return my key cards directly to the front desk when I left I would’ve been charged $ 75.00!!!! We would not have booked here if we had known all of this. So maybe call and ask, it will be going for months during 2026! Staff was not welcoming, didn’t offer us cookies sitting on the counter and we felt awkward asking… that kind of thing. I know they’re under construction and trying to make it better, but the lack of information, lack of hospitality, and lack of maybe giving extra points on my IHG account or some kind of compensation or offer of something would have made me not even post a rating at all. It was just an all around disaster. I’m very forgiving and the location is very nice! Can’t wait for the updated facility! Good luck guys!!
