This place is a fraud under the Embassy Suites / Hilton name. The lobby looks old but acceptable—until you enter the rooms. Then it’s a shock. The rooms are filthy and severely outdated: stained carpets, neglected surfaces, and dark spots on walls and air vents that look like mold, including in the HVAC. You are literally breathing whatever is in those ducts. We left the hotel and booked elsewhere. That alone says everything. Hilton is charging premium rates for rooms that feel old, unhealthy, and unfit for guests, hiding behind brand trust. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Serious Safety Concerns - Inadequate Response to Electrical Hazard While Embassy Suites Scottsdale offers reasonable rates for families with children, our recent stay was marred by a dangerous electrical issue and shockingly poor service response. The day before checkout, we noticed a buzzing sound coming from a light switch. After calling the front desk, it took over an hour for maintenance to arrive. The technician worked on the issue, and we assumed it was resolved. That evening, the buzzing returned - this time accompanied by smoke coming from the light switch. This was clearly a serious fire hazard. When we contacted reception again, they promised to send someone immediately. A maintenance person did arrive, but incredibly, told us they had "something else to do" and left without addressing the problem. No one ever returned. We didn't escalate further only because we found a workaround and were checking out the following morning, but this experience was deeply concerning. A smoking electrical light switch is a legitimate emergency that could endanger guests, yet the hotel's response was dismissive and negligent. Positives: Reasonably priced for families, suitable for kids Negatives: Visible wear and tear in amenities, rude and indifferent service when issues arise I cannot recommend this hotel when guest safety is clearly not a priority.

Rooms are spacious and breakfast is great upholding the embassy brand and that’s pretty much all the positives for this location. The air conditioner did not blow cold air when set to high fan and the thermostat set to 65F. We were stuck sweating in a room when the weather outside is probably <50F and had poor sleep. The mattress was too old and sagging. It needs to be replaced. The duvet cover was awful and rough. Sheets and pillows were not the same as a typical Hilton and are very rough and worn out. I also spotted stains on one of the duvet covers in the room which is unacceptable.

I've long enjoyed staying at Embassy Suites for the rooms and awesome breakfasts with my family, but this stay has me rethinking my choice of hotel. Priced for the location, but zero pride in their guest experience from a room standpoint. The room was horridly humid, which seems really odd from a desert resort, especially in the winter. In turn, it was musty all the time and mold on the shower walls and caulk. I wonder if there's a leak somewhere nearby. The bottom of the tub was black. Something that should be easily solved by bleach in my experience. I was going to call after checking in to see if it was possible to move. I picked up the phone to dial and after hitting the front desk button, nothing the happened. Tried all the buttons, could hear the dial tone, but nothing dialed. Great the phone's broken. We have kids, we just did a 14 hr travel day, whatever. We went to bed. The sheets DO NOT breathe, so each we felt like we were sleeping in plastic bags. It was very uncomfortable rather than restful. In the morning come to find that the coffee maker doesn't work. Thought it was a fluke, tried a couple more times. Just pretends like its working enough to give you hope and pulls the rug out from under you by presenting an empty cup when you're ready to gran that caffeine fix. I only ask two things of a place I stay: that it's clean and comfortable. This was neither. The staff themselves were lovely people, so it's hard to tell if the lack of care is from a management or corporate standpoint for not investing in materials that would make it the stat we used to associate with the brand. My husband mentioned to me overhearing from other guests that they've been coming here for a while and complaining that it's gone downhill. My family mentioned that it used to have a great bar and be packed but that's gone too. Maybe try the other location. I've stayed their previously and had a much better experience.

I had to stay here for my son’s hockey tournament and it was so awful I feel compelled to write a review. I’m a Hilton diamond member and this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Hilton property. I had 3 rooms for my entire family. Room number 1: bugs in the toilet when we arrived. Kitchen area sink did not drain at all and the cleaning service did not seem to care and left it that way. They also left obviously used glasses and paper cups to sit out instead of cleaning them. The extra blanket had numerous pubic hairs on it. When we arrived, it was 76 degrees with the a/c on. I called and they said they would send someone and did not. I had to sleep with doors open - they did send someone out the next morning to mostly fix it but the bedroom had zero vents working at all. So Room number 2: the tub had so much black residue in the drain that if you used the shower it came out of the drain into the tub basin. The tub itself leaked into the bathroom. Room 3 took the cake. It had a bit of a smell when we first arrived. After a day we realized the floor in the living room was drenched. I lifted the carpet to find mold and bugs crawling all over. Maintenance came out and moved us but then the hotel messed up our keys and locked us out of our new room. And when I explained all this politely to the man at the front desk, his response was “bad luck for you I guess” The only reason I gave 2 stars for service was that the night manager seemed a little grossed out and the maintenance people came quickly when they were actually called. Stay far away from this dump
