I have never had two people behind a bar (Alma, she clearly spelled out for me, thank you Alma for treating me as if I can't spell -Or- understand Spelling phonics, she found it humorous..... I DID NOT) and Zylo, coming to her defense for me simply wanting a pen (whom I also overhead apologizing to another patron about overcharging them $275) What? Zylo.... to be so
Cavalier and disrespectful. Wow.
They instantly took our 5 star experience to a two star
I'm not sure if they thought I had
Been drinking? I hadn't . My husband and I have two sons both engineers and I was mortified by Alma and Zylos blatant disrespect.
All I asked for was a "felt tip" pen because the ballpoint pen wasn't working in the heat. We had a $200 tab and wanted to tip Delaney $50 she worked her butt off and was so kind. Delaney was wonderful
I hope that management takes this review as a lesson on how to do better! My husband is an executive in aerospace, and he was even shocked by the way these two represented canopy Hilton. We stay at Hilton's all the time. I'm embarrassed for Canopy Scottsdale. We won't stay here again nor will we recommend it.
Ending on a positive: Alison, at breakfast served us and was such a gem, a complete joy, Delaney: thanks for serving us poolside with laughter and wit.
You're adorable

We stayed for a week and found the hotel quite comfortable. The location is excellent, within walking distance of most of Scottsdale’s attractions. The staff were all friendly, helpful and professional. A couple of negative points. First, the hotel lacks any quiet spaces for relaxing or quiet conversations. The lobby is open and very noisy. The 7th floor outdoor lounge is lovely but staff turn the music up to a blistering level at 9am. No place to enjoy the quiet morning. Finally, at night, the room creaked, groaned and moaned. It seemed it might be haunted 😆

This spot is all about location. $2k for 4 nights, parking is $25 a day. The people who work the desk in the lobby poorly greet customers. They don’t care if you live or die haha. No pen in the room?! Sounds silly but if you’re paying this much there better be a pen in the room. Key card didn’t work for the parking area so I had to leave back out go back in and get them to program the key. The call box on the parking thing didn’t work, so that wasn’t an option. The sheets are gross, they come off and the mattress is fully exposed after one sleep. No mattress protectors either?! Crazy. Room needs a sound machine too…. I could go on and on, this spot is completely just for location and they know it so the don’t care. Also the pools heater wasn’t working, and the outlet in our room was falling out of the wall, no screw or anything

Stayed at Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town from Thursday to Monday during the PGA event—room rates skyrocketed, pushing our total cost over $2,500—and it was a major letdown for a premium-priced hotel, even downtown.
Room Quality Issues
Our third-floor room had a dismal view of garbage cans, which felt insulting for the price. The garbage trucks also came very early, around 5–6 a.m., loudly picking up trash and waking us up multiple mornings. The bed frame protrudes awkwardly under the sheets, causing me to trip and injure my leg the first day. The AC unit was broken, constantly turning off despite attempts to cool the room, leaving it uncomfortably warm during Scottsdale’s hot nights.
Poor Service Response
I called reception about the room issues, and the staffer said the manager was on vacation. They offered just four coupons for basic well drinks as compensation—which didn’t come close to addressing our dissatisfaction after spending thousands.
Overall, despite the prime downtown location and event-driven rates, this hotel falls short on room quality, noise, basic safety, functional amenities, and service. I’d skip it unless they upgrade significantly. 1 star.
