★☆☆☆☆ — Do Not Book If You Expect What You Paid For
We reserved a room with two beds. What we got instead was one bed and a portable cot — which arrived dirty, with hair and visible grime on the sheets, clearly used by a previous guest. When staff replaced it, the second cot had a broken spring protruding from the mattress, making sleep nearly impossible.
For our third night, we requested a proper solution. They brought back the original dirty cot.
When we escalated to the manager and asked for reasonable financial compensation, we were offered an $80 credit — and told that if we didn’t like it, we could leave. That is not customer service. That is dismissal.
We took her up on it, called around Prescott, found another hotel, and cancelled the remaining nights through Booking.com. We are still waiting to confirm the charge adjustment.
The front desk staff were kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic — this review is not about them. The failure here is entirely a management problem: a dirty bed, a broken bed, no accountability, and an ultimatum instead of an apology.
Stay elsewhere.

This room is very comfortable! Even though we were put by the stairs on the 2nd floor, it’s actually very surprisingly quiet, comfortable and you can’t hear anyone going up or down those stairs, which is real nice! We’re right in front the nice tiny grassy area with beautiful trees and a little patio table and chairs and a little area there where our dog could pee. No one was loud and we slept soundly. Our dog was also comfortable here. :) they had full breakfast: eggs, Turkey sausage (my favorite) and bacon- yogurt with walnuts, raisins and granola. Last night we ate at an authentic Mexican restaurant they have here right on the hotels property. You can just walk there from your room and the food was amazing! The service was so polite and excellent!! We would totally stay here again! The front desk ladies and breakfast attendants, all housekeeping and employees here have been super polite and welcoming. The shower pressure was full and strong which is good! With a little window - open to the mountains, pretty view from the shower.

So I a 21 year old guy am traveling by myself (for the first time)and am visiting my friends before they graduate college (about 7 days). I am about 1000 miles from home, without other accommodations.
I stayed for a few night, no issues and everything is fine. I get back one night and I see three roaches crawling around my bathroom sink and I get a picture of two of them before all three scary back to behind the mirror (room 132).
I talked to the front desk worker the night before and he says I can get a room swap but I want a refund for the stay. I get a call in the morning (same room BTW because no other rooms are available at around 11 pm at night) and it is a new front desk worker letting me know that I am going to switch rooms. I try to be as respectful as possible because I understand its not their fault that there are roaches. But any form of refund was denied by manager even though I saw a viable health risk actively in my room. So I call corporate and immediately after I called corporate I am told by the front desk worker that I am causing drama and that I will get last night refunded and the rest of my trip refunded and have to check out of the hotel. I was immediately getting kicked out of the hotel when I called corporate for what I thought was genuine reason to complain especially when it involves the health of me and others that are going into that room. I may have been the issue (I guess...?) But still the way that it was handled was horrible. Horrible manager, corporate was not much help. Sure its really cheap but when there is a genuine health issue they don't refund and are overly aggressive (especially when you call corporate I guess).
P.S. the manager after I called corporate said ( if you wont work with us we wont work with you ) when I was working with them, but I still wanted the refund that she denied...?
Sorry Best Western Prescottonian owner. You're so right. Its not the full story. I called corporate after being told that I would be moving rooms( about an hour after- not to talk about the moving room situation), I didn't even ask corporate for a full refund, just a partial one. Then proceeded to hear the front desk worker sounding like she was going to cry. You called my room almost 4 minutes after I got off the phone with corporate to tell me that I would be checking out(not you calling me, but the front desk worker saying that if I don't want to work with you that you won't work with me and that you aren't going to be dealing with this drama). I went to the front office after you hung up the phone on me, and when I asked if I was still switching rooms you told me that I was checking out.

I stayed at the Best Western Prescottonian and had a very disappointing experience with their handling of a supposed smoking violation.
Upon checkout, I received a voicemail from the front desk informing me they had charged my card $150 for a cleaning fee due to violating the non-smoking policy. I don't smoke at all (cigarettes or otherwise), so I was shocked and immediately called back.
The staff explained that the housekeeper detected the smell of weed in the room, which triggered the charge according to hotel policy. They admitted the housekeeper's notes were vague, but said the fee was standard and non-negotiable. When I checked in, I did notice a faint odor of marijuana in the room, but I assumed it was residual from a previous guest and didn't report it since it wasn't strong.
I explained this to the front desk and was told to email the general manager for further review. I did so right away, but after two full weeks, I received no response despite following up multiple times by phone. Each call was met with refusal to discuss the matter or escalate it.
This lack of communication and unwillingness to consider my side of the story is extremely frustrating—especially when money is tight and there's no clear evidence tying the odor to me rather than a prior guest. I can't imagine this approach is fair or even legal without proper documentation.
I won't be returning to this property, and this experience has made me hesitant to stay at any Best Western in the future. Potential guests should be aware of how strictly (and inflexibly) they enforce smoking fees, even in cases where the smell may be pre-existing.
(1 star – would give 0 if possible)
Update: The hotel finally responded publicly here after ignoring my emails and multiple phone follow-ups. They apologized for not 'exceeding expectations' but upheld the $150 fee, claiming the 'heavy marijuana smell' was verified by their Executive Housekeeper—still without any evidence, photos, or documentation provided to me. This doesn't address the faint odor I noticed upon check-in (likely from a prior guest) or my repeated attempts to discuss it privately. Disappointing lack of accountability.

De 4 días (no cuento el día de llegada) de estadía, sólo hubo un servicio de habitación (limpieza, cama, toallas, jabón, shampoo).
