I thought our trip was going to be negatively affected by a terrible experience at this hotel, but Jennifer helped turn everything around.
Things started off poorly when we were arriving late after driving for hours, only to find out our reservation had been canceled. We called the hotel to see if they could still accommodate us, and a female employee answered. She was extremely rude and condescending, and gave us almost no reassurance about our situation. At that point we had been on the road for about 15 hours, it was 3:30am, and we were exhausted. After talking to her, she only added more stress to the situation.
When we got to the hotel, she was even ruder in person. We were extra polite because we wanted a smooth check-in after the reservation issue, but while she was checking us in, she would ignore us at certain points and act annoyed. We kindly asked for a room on a higher floor because of anxiety, but she gave us a non-answer twice and put us in a low-level room right next to the elevator.
When we got to the room, the bathroom was dirty—water stains on the counter, dirt in the soap dispenser, a leftover smell from the previous guests, and even hair on one of the pillows. We didn’t complain because we were too tired and didn’t want another interaction with the rude employee (she, who wore red framed glasses).
By then I was really upset, mostly because of the awful treatment at the front desk. Honestly, it set a negative tone for the rest of the trip. The next day, we decided to go back to the desk and cancel the next two nights so we could stay somewhere nicer with better hospitality.
When we got there, I won’t lie—I was upset. But Jennifer, the kind and beautiful employee working the desk, completely changed the experience. She listened to everything we had to say, understood our frustration, and made us feel heard. She was so wonderful that she convinced us to give the hotel another chance. She moved us to a better room and made sure we were taken care of. I just want to say thank you to Jennifer and the kind enthusiastic valet driver,Joe. You guys made our stay here worth it.
I would have given this hotel 5 stars just for Jennifer’s hospitality (her hospitality was 5 stars), but unfortunately the second room also had issues. The toilet seat was dirty and had a pube on it, and I noticed a similar hair on one of the towels. Besides that, the beds were clean, but for what we paid, the room cleanliness was unacceptable. This hotel really needs to reevaluate how they clean their hotel rooms.
