    The best part about this hotel is the breakfast! Janelle went above and beyond! From almond milk to gluten-free bagels, she accommodated all of allergies.

    Beware. They don’t have parking. Took us thirty minutes to find something. You can pay 30 a day nearby. We arrived and got keys to get ready for a concert. Room was clean and they have breakfast but there was an issue with the lights in the bathroom that morning so we couldn’t shower before leaving. That was until about 20 mins until check out and light in bathroom finally worked. I showered but my friend was not able to. It would have been a better rating however I went to use my credit card to find out it was declined. Come to find out I have a 300 smoking charge. Per the “alarm” it went off No more than 30 mins after we got the keys to the room. I actually laughed when I saw the sign in the room thinking what remedial person does that? I guess taking a shower when we arrived can cause an alarm. I’ve never had an issue like that and so I’ll never stay here again.

    Great stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a big washroom and super comfy bed - felt like a little retreat. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options. Location was perfect, super close to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

    I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Phoenix, and I feel compelled to warn other travelers about the lack of accountability and customer service at this location. During my stay, I was wrongfully charged a $300 smoking fee, despite the fact that I did not smoke in the room. After reviewing the hotel’s report, I discovered that their “smoke detection” technology can be triggered by perfectly normal environmental conditions—including a hot steamy shower interacting with dust particles in the air, which can cause sensors to misread humidity. Research shows that certain photoelectric and particulate-based detectors can falsely trigger under these conditions, yet the hotel treated the alert as conclusive proof without doing their own research. When I reached out to dispute the charge, I was required to fill out a formal dispute form for something that should have been approached with basic customer care and a simple conversation. The Assistant General Manager (Alan Torres) eventually reached out and acknowledged my dispute, agreeing to remove the charge. However, despite removing the fee, they did not apologize, did not take accountability, and did not provide an updated invoice. I had to wait a week just to get the corrected invoice for my expense report—something that should have been issued immediately after the charge was reversed. I also asked how the hotel plans to prevent loyal guests from being subjected to false accusations and false sensor triggers in the future, and to date, they have not responded to that question at all. The hotel has yet to address my concerns, acknowledge the inconvenience, or offer any reassurance that other guests won’t face the same issue. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. The lack of communication and accountability from management is unacceptable for a Hilton property. I will not be staying at this location again and strongly encourage others to use caution when booking here. If you don’t believe me, just read their other reviews.
