Other Hamptons actually brown the sausage versus microwave. The rates here are top notch. It's cheaper to stay here, rent a car or Uber to midtown than to stay at the midtown hampton! The staff is so AMAZING! The night guy was a little odd but nice. He did educate me on the coffee maker and didn't make me feel like a dork which was sweet. I will stay here EVERY time we need to go to Barrows. There were a few nights that the basement level reeked of pot coming from staff lounge, hallways smell kind of weird, hot water takes a bit. The maids are really sweet too.

The room (230) was significantly outdated, with stained carpet, overly soft beds, and a shower that appeared original to the 1980s. Some bathrooms are updated, but this one still had the tub and was not current. The room door was poorly aligned, leaving visible gaps at the top and side (see pics) that allowed both light and faint smoke to enter. The AC unit rattled throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. Hallway carpets on the second floor were also stained, the ice machine was out of service, and the lobby felt dated. When we informed the staff that we did not feel comfortable in the room due to the door gaps and asked to move, the first question was whether we were in room 420—implying that other rooms may have known issues. We were then told the hotel was full and no alternative rooms were available. This was especially frustrating given that we paid almost $300 including taxes. We checked out after the first night and relocated to the Grand Hyatt, which was only slightly more expensive and a significantly better experience. It is difficult to understand how this property maintains such high reviews, as our stay did not reflect the quality others have described.
