The hotel and room were clean and comfortable, EXCEPT the mattress was one of the WORST I've ever slept on. It might have been better to sleep on the floor!
The mattress was extremely firm.

The staff was polite. But the place itself... disgusting. Terrible area, homeless people pacing around outside the front entrance. That was the first red flag before I even entered the building. There was a guy pacing back and forth the entrance tweaking out and i had to wait in my car until he left to feel safe walking in. I had a higher expectations from a double tree hilton. I booked for 2 nights and only stayed one even though it was nonrefundable. Rooms had stains on carpet and furniture. The room had a moldy smell to it and I have asthma and was coughing all night. They should shut it down and renovate the entire building not just the pool. This place is equivalent to a cheap motel not a hotel. A Best Western would have been a better option honestly.

Room was fine. Swimming pool was out of of order and completely dug up.
Would have been a 4-Star review aside except for no complimentary coffee in the lobby. I paid 4$ for a small cup of watery to-go coffee. I've stayed in much lower tiered hotels that still over complimentary coffee in the lobby!

The pool is under construction, the area is kind of ghetto, some homeless walking around. Second time staying within a year but this time the place look a bit worse. Carpet in my room has some stains, a mosquito flying around, and towels were not looking the cleanest. The only good thing was that there is a small adventure park close by and this time is open and looks like fun.... it looks like is pet friendly too: I don't mind usually but looking at the stains on the carpet makes me wonder.

I was at the DoubleTree Phoenix North for a reunion with the Vietnam Security Police Association. My overall experience was fabulous. My room was perfect and well kept. To me it was an excellent location and close to just about everything. On a personal note I would like to give personal kudos to various members of the staff. First there is Barry. He was responsible for our hospitality room care. He and his group were on top of things for us. Some things they simply did to help the ladies be ready for the next day. A huge shout out has to be given to the GM Ron. With his help and that of the front desk personnel we were able to get medical help for one of our members, who was ultimately admitted to the hospital. Though they checked him out, they stored his belongings for pick up on discharge. Ron also assured us that should Jack be released during our block of time, he would be able to get another room. You couldn't ask for more. Lastly, I have to give full props to the frontline staff. They know who they are. The Front Desk Crew. Starting with Stevie, who welcomed me my first day. She put me totally at ease and always had a smile. Then her partners on other days were Kiki and Seth. They continued to give us that feel at home feeling. The morning crew were totally helpful in local attractions and the hospital for our emergency. Last of all comes the midnight crew. There was Tyler who was very personable and friendly. He would always ask how we were and tell us to rest well. Then I really have to give great praise to Nina. She worked the last night of my stay and I had to run downstairs for some chips and soda. She was engaged with a gentleman, who seemed to be very irate. Her demeanor never changed though. She remained professional and courteous. I indicated I would be right back. I got one of our leaders to go out to assist. All was settled without any escalation. In Short, Thank You All For Everything. On a Personal note for all. Jack is home, in Connecticut. He is still sore but resting comfortably.
