I booked this hotel on a 3rd party site because the reviews were great. I was not impressed. The biggest positive was the front desk staff. Very welcoming and friendly. The neighborhood was decent but even the front desk agent told me to be cautious at night since it was just myself and daughter. It was a good location for a concert at Mortgage Matchup, a free train ride that stops right outside the hotel. Sadly, the hotel itself was disappointingly dirty, dark, dingy. Hair all over the bathroom which was definitely not mine. Dusty, old furniture. Poor lighting in the halls. Dishes sat near the ice machine for two days and were starting to smell. I would not stay here again. The only redeeming factor is the kind front desk agent.

Beware — the other reviews are accurate. We were charged a $350 smoking fee for “smoking at 5:37 AM” while we were literally asleep. When we tried to dispute the charge, customer service offered no real support; we were simply told to “just dispute it on your credit card,” which tells me they know the charge isn’t legitimate.
In addition, the website advertises on-site parking but does not disclose that it’s $12 per night for hotel guests — and the parking isn’t even attached to the building. This was another frustrating surprise.
The room and lobby are definitely dated, but that alone wouldn’t have led me to leave a negative review. The real issue is being billed for something we didn’t do and not being given a fair or reasonable opportunity to dispute it. The whole situation felt sketchy and extremely non-transparent.
Would NOT recommend.

Tiesha H was AWFUL with customer service skills. Trying to charge my card $260 for a “smoking” fee. My sister was in the room and ran the heat all night and they probably haven’t cleaned their air vents in months and I’m sure that’s what caused the “smoking” alarm to go off. My sister tried to talk to her at the hotel and was shut down completely so I called and she knew who I was before I even said hello and she also shut me down saying “no no no, we’re not doing this - get it disputed with your bank.” Excuse me? That’s how a corporate manager speaks to a paying customer over the phone? Laughable and made my blood boil - I am not the one, honey. I did call and dispute but wanted to warn others - stay far, far away from this incompetent, nasty & over charged hotel. Tiesha - you need to be fired or go through training again because you handled this situation in such a disgusting and disrespectful manner. Threatening to have my sister or myself escorted off property by police because we’re upset with a false charge that shouldn’t be there? Do better.
Of course, no response lol. Trash hotel and customer service.

Julien was great! He made it a super easy check in.
However, $12 for parking is excessive, there was hair in the shower upon check in, & we needed more towels but the phone didn’t work on the 9th floor. I called from my cell for more towels and was told that the one and only housekeeper working is filling 6+ other tasks. I said we would wait, but the towels never came.

My wife and I ate at the restaurant in the lobby. About and hour to 90 minutes later my wife started vomiting. I called the front desk to complain and they transferred me to the bar/restaurant. She ate the Mediterranean Shrimp Pasta. When we contacted the restaurant and I told them she was vomiting and we suspected food poisoning, they said no one else got sick and did I want an ambulance. I asked him if they were going to pay for the ambulance and emergency room (of course not because that would be thousands of dollars) and when I said I should not have to pay for food that made my wife sick they hung up on me. So I called the front desk a second time and they said they would talk to the food manager. The desk Manager got back to me and comped the food after I filed out a incident report.
