When I arrived to my room I found a bad filled with feces covered towels.
The manager came to my room and asked what I felt like she should do in this situation.
She told me no one could come clean the room until tomorrow because the cleaning staff had already left for the day.
The situation was handled poorly.
Over all we had a great stay at the Best Western! My only complaint is they had our room ready at 1:00 pm, but wanted $25 to check in early! The room is sitting there empty and ready, I have never seen a hotel want to charge you to get in early. That policy needs to change for the price they already charge at this location. We stayed at a Best Western in Scottsdale on the second leg of our stay after visiting the Grand Canyon. The Best Western in Scottsdale charged the same price and was almost a five star hotel in my opinion.

The hotel is located close to the freeway. The room and facility was clean and well maintained. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. I believe the scrambled eggs were powdered, in any event they were not good.

Room 201 was great & spacious. The bed was slightly soft and the pillows were a little thicker than I prefer, but I slept well. The HVAC system was a bit loud and intermittently sounded like thunder. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs and turkey sausage at breakfast, just added hot sauce. Sitting out by the pool was wonderfully relaxing, and I definitely felt safe on the property. I enjoyed being greeted with bottled water and snacks when I checked in. I would return here if I traveled to Phoenix alone again, but I know my husband needs a firmer bed.
FYI Do NOT attempt to walk to In-N-Out Burger from the hotel! It’s only a mile away, but you’ll have to walk through a homeless encampment underneath an overpass, which is memorable experience for all the wrong reasons.
My check-in experience started off a bit misleading. The front desk agent told me my room would be on the first floor near a door I could use for easy access. I specifically asked if the door near my room worked, and she said yes. However, after parking in the back and carrying all my bags to that entrance, neither of my keys worked. When I went back to the front desk, I was told the door “sometimes doesn’t work” and that there was no maintenance available that day. That definitely should have been communicated upfront.
The room itself was a mobility-accessible room, which I don’t require. While that’s not necessarily an issue, it would’ve been nice to be informed beforehand. The room had a noticeable odor, and the air unit was quite noisy, which made the stay less comfortable.
On the positive side, the hotel is reasonably priced and conveniently located near the highway, shopping, and restaurants. The room was also mostly clean.
Overall, the stay was okay for the price, but better communication would have made a big difference.
