Recently my daughter and I stayed at the Best Western Hotel at 1342 S Power Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206-3704 United States. This must be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and I highly recommend no one states here.
I was never given a confirmation number as I called to make my reservation and when I asked for one they said it is ok you have a room.
At our check-in, since it was after 10 pm I had to use a blue wall phone to call the clerk who was sleeping on the lobby couch to check in. The guy was so sleepy he could not figure out how to check us into the room for a few minutes. It really showed a bad image of this hotel and brand name.
This should not be a hotel it should be a motel the way it is designed and kept up.
We checked into room 119 and both my 15-year-old daughter and I were so shocked, just looking at the inside of the room. It was so old and unkept and clearly looked like no one cared about this hotel.
I opened the bathroom/shower door and along the ceiling were patched holes like someone covered with bullet holes or water marks in the shower ceiling and white paint was patched with yellow/tan patches.
As we checked in neither the bathtub nor sink would drain so I pulled the drain plugged up and both came completely out, full of dirt and hair. I just let them on the edge of the tub and sink so the water would drain.
My daughter was freaking out because the room was so dirty she would not get under the covers and slept on top of the bed in a blanket she brought with her.
I went to take a shower, and the shower head would not turn in either direction nor could you change the shower water pressure as it was corroded with silver junk. Just nasty.
During the shower I grabbed a washcloth and noticed it was hard and brown. I threw it on the floor. When I was done with the shower, I grabbed a towel and noticed how hard the towel was. The towels were so old, so scratchy, and just would not soak up the water from my body I had to use two towels. I literally used the towel as a back scratcher. The worst I have ever seen.
My daughter was sleeping on one bed, and I went to sleep in the other, as I laid down the right side of the matter was hard as a rock and the left side was softer making me feel so uncomfortable.
There is no cover on the bed and with the AC on there were no spare covers in the closet. When I lifted the covers, I found 1 sheet, a small blanket, and a 2nd sheet used as a cover. I am glad my daughter brought her own blanket because were so think it did not help.
I said to myself, let me check my email and went to plug in my computer and was shocked by the power outlet.
The room had no USB or min-USB outlets and wall plates falling or unscrewed from the walls.
The only reason we stayed in this hotel was to be assigned to stay together for bonding purposes, otherwise I would have moved to another hotel. This was one of the most uncomfortable experiences or stays I have ever been to and when I asked for new towels that were not scratchy, I was told that is all we have. This place is ready to be closed. Do not stay here. If I could give it a -10 I would.

I took my Uncle here to stay while he was in town... he said it was the cleanest hotel he's probably ever stayed in... and he travels quite a lot. So I would highly recommend this place if you are traveling to Mesa, AZ.

The employees are great, the rooms are nice enough and fairly quiet. The pool and hot tub worked and we're nice to relax in. The area seemed safe and there is a Cafe right next door.

We've stayed here more times than I can count but this trip was not as good. We miss the old staff. Upon check in we were instantly told our dog couldn't be there though our check in notes stated we had a service dog. You are no longer allowed to eat breakfast in your room and we were scolded for using our personal coffee mugs for coffee. The couple employees that were still there were just a kind and wonderful but the new ones lack personality and are not as friendly.

Stayed there 0n October 17th, 2025. When I booked the room they said it was pet friendly. Then when we checked in and they said the hold 100 dollars and if there was any pet damage or anything else then they would keep the deposit. It was me and my elder parents the next morning I was out shopping and my mother called scared yelling someone just come in to the room yelling about the dog saying it wasn't allowed. I came back and went to the office and she said that I would need to talk to the manager called him the next day and he said he would call back, he didnt. Just got off the phone with him and he said in his words "YOUR A LIER". NOT COOL.
